I feel sorry for all those people waiting in gas lines or running from place to place to try to find a station with gas. In 2003/ 2004 there was a pipeline that feeds to Phoenix that burst and everyone started to panic buy gas and fill up every container they could find so they could try to sell the gas to people at high prices. All the stations ran out, ones that still had gas price gouged to ridiculous prices. News and radio would air stations rumored to have gas, long lines at places that had gas.
It sucked, but it was all panic buyers and people trying to gouge others that caused it. All they had to do was wait until trucks from Tucson brought it in.

Just about anywhere in the likely US is still cheaper than Canada. We're dumb and tax the crap out of it, even though we produce the stuff. It was $1.249/L here yesterday or $4.73 for regular. That's about $3.78 US.

And now our "awesome" governor Whitmer wants Canada to shut down a line that feeds multiple states gas due to some made nonsense that the thing is faulty. She's truly awful.

Talk about creating an issue.

Can confirm. I haven't seen it change since the artic storm fiasco.

Of course, I haven't really paid attention to gas prices in years :idk: I live 3 miles from work and I drive a 1.8L 4 cylinder Ford Focus hatchback. I think I fill up once almost every three weeks and that's outside the work-from-home order during the height of COVID.

Today I saw some places at 2.85 here so it seems like it's getting back to normal. No long lines either.
Normal here is around 2.60-2.80 so we're almost there.

I was in Baltimore yesterday and it's around 2.70 there so I filled up my tank. Since I work from home a tank lasts me 2-3 weeks.

$3.25 And up everywhere around here(Chicagoland)for 87. And easily $.40 higher in the city Funny I ended up getting a flex fuel van for work, and I swear I’ve yet to find a station that has 85z At least not when I’m looking, yet I seem to recall seeing them all the time when I couldn’t care less! And I haven’t a clue If that’s actual savings or not. If it’s $.10 or some shit, I won’t bother. Yeah thanks for the $2 off on $90 tank Of gas...
