According to my sources within the industry: ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOT.

Our company is getting, bare minimum, about 250+ more units ordered each day than we can build. Our lead times are longer than they've ever been. And our lumber supplies are running thread-bare thin. We're adding material costs to orders up front and they still aren't slowing down. Based on projections, we're not seeing any sign of a slow down in our market for the next six plus months, and on a typical year we'd be entering stagnation later this month and preparing to update our product lines during the slow-down that usually lasts until mid September or so.

We're basically getting turbo fucked right about the time we were expecting the polite slow ride. This is no time to be in the wood working industry. Unless you enjoy stress.

A lot of industries are hit hard, working in supply chain right now sucks. We have custom boxes done up locally, normal lead time, 2 weeks at most - for a while I was getting hit with 8 weeks dues to paper mills not getting wood to make the paper. On top of that, panic buyers put in a bunch of orders for boxes which pushed lead times out so far.
Plastic resins got hit because of the winter storm in Texas.
Microchips , the majority are produced in Taiwan, you're not seeing that let up until 2022. There's a big water shortage in Taiwan right now and making the chips requires a lot of water, so their people get restrictions on water use to channel it over to the microprocessor companies.
I'm looking to purchase a new forklift for the company and the reps I talk to say they're seeing more people in a day than they normally would see in a week.
Throw in increased demand/ panic buying and that's not helping all the supply chain mess.
I think all the ocean ports are still a mess as well. You've got ships just stuck out in sea because nowhere to dock at the ports because they're all clogged down. I had heard China was all out of shipping containers because they were all out on the water or stuck at our ports.
I just found out last week that chlorine for pools is having shortages and prices on that is going up a lot. Lucky for me I just switched my pool to salt water.

Going full time WFH means I never have any clue how much gas is in my car anymore.
Its literally so long between low fuel lights that I'm always confused for a moment about it when it comes on.

I stopped and got gas on the way home last night. Supposedly the entire country is panic buying gas. There were zero other people at the gas station at 5:25 PM.

Yet up the road at work there were literally people lined up out to the highway at the gas stations. WTF?

I didn't get any since I had filled up my tank last week and I work from home anyway.

But today I saw a mile long line at a gas station here. And thwy were waiting in line with their cars idling, which last I checked, is a waste of gas.

Panic reactions have always been a problem but we're living in a time where our minds have been continually wired for limbic system based cognition instead of pre-frontal cortex based cognition.

Our thinking has been more and more rooted in emotions. Social media is a HUGE accelerant in this process, but the media and corporate interests have been hacking the limbic system to increase profitability for decades and decades.

Yeah no doubt. The pandemic also did a number on people's control over their own emotions.

On Wednesday, driving home from work, there were lines at every gas station. On Thursday, driving home from work, most of the gas stations were out of gas. It didn't help that the Governor declared a state of emergency. Only three cities in Florida get their gas from the Colonial pipeline, Panama City, Fort Walton Beach and Tallahassee. That's some good thinking skills to panic 21 million people, because 200,000 are going to have trouble getting gas.
