Congrats Steiny, way to re-create your own reality. Sounds like phase 1 was to weed out the riff raff, next two are in the bag for you dude. :thu:

Back when I tried it we took 'White-Cross'. I would still get sleepy as hell. This was a short career for me

5 weeks down, DONE.

Fuck this place, I learned it all and I’m good to go. Can’t wait to get home for a week.

I miss my wife, my daughter, the cats and my guitars/amps. Can’t wait to jam. 5 weeks with no guitar sucked ass, gonna have to figure out a way to take an axe with me, along with my comp/interface. There’s a serious amount of down time in this job, I’ll have a lot of time to play.

Figured I’d update.

Next up, Hazmat certs on my own time, they’ve given me 3 months to grab it, plenty of time.

Now, listen up. If you are planning on being a trucker and taking a guitar on the road with you, it is required by federal law that that guitar be a Fender Telecaster. No off brand's. No weird shapes or trem's. Just a down and dirty run whatcha brung Tele. Anything less and the DOT will take your license.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense anyway.

I think a parlor acoustic would be acceptable too.

Man you’ve seen the Jazzmaster days, you know that isn’t gonna happen

Although if a good bro in NY felt bad enough about my trucking Tele sitch and just had to send me a Pittman I’d be down. :)

ALSO

I just got off the phone with my team lead; there’s a dedicated run out of SLC that they want me on. More $. No touch freight. Show up and get loaded, drive and get unloaded, whole time I’m sitting in the cab playing guitar. It’s a 5 day run, weekends off but I STILL only work 3 weeks out of the month and get paid for 4, same truck for the whole week. When I’m done on Friday I go home, come back Monday. No flying with guitars, which means I can take my ESPs if I want to.

I am SERIOUSLY stoked right now.

Do you have to get your hazmat first for this run?
Or is it not in that category?

Saw that shit like two weeks ago; ain’t gonna lie I’d do some shady stuff for $14k per week but I don’t have that experience.
