I think Chicago is usually right at the top as far as cities. And we've been at $4.2x for awhile now.. Welcome to the club Pepi.. But we'll be up to $4.45 in less than a week, I'm sure..

Last night I paid about $1.35 a litre (in your terms, $5+/gal). That's a bit lower than what it's been the last few months. Glad I'm not driving the XR8 anymore, coz that needed 98, and that had been at over $1.60 a litre for a while.

So yeah, quit yer whining.

I had to take leave and go home bc in the process of taking my clothes off I apparently didn't unbutton my shirt and instead ripped it off.

Yeah, we're gonna hit $1.50/L this summer, no doubt about it. Paid 1.42 for 93 octane for my bike early in the season. :(

It's been cheaper at the gas station besides us for a few months, ranging from $3.85-.95. I'm not complaining since it's hardly ever this low here in OC.

This thread could go on forever about how the price of oil now is complete bullshit because its all based on speculation...so we're significantly overpaying right now because it MIGHT be more expensive for the oil companies to buy crude in the future...etc etc...

In NJ they passed a law (might no longer be in effect though) that limits how much the gas stations can raise the price in one day...its a low figure like 0.10 or 0.15 per day...

I haven't paid attention to the price of regular since the everyday car takes premium...but I'm paying around 3.65 for premium so regular is probably in the 3.35 - 3.45 range.

That's fucking retarded. Gas at the pump is already loss leader. They make like 1 cent per gallon.

What happens to the speculators if the price is not more expensive in the future?

Unfortunately, this.

It's not the gas station's fault that prices go up. It's not even really the oil companies themselves. It's the speculators and cartels like OPEC.

And it's not going to get better anytime toon.

Also, it's against the law in NJ to pump your own gas.

I was living in NY at the time and was in NJ for some reason. I figured, hell, I'll get some gas.

I got out and put my card in the pump and the dude came running out shitting down both legs.

That's when I learned in NJ, I can't pump my own gas.

That's so weird! I can't imagine not doing it myself, but then we don't have the same service culture over here so the concept of someone standing there offering to fill my car for me would only fill me with suspicion that he was going to fill my rectum too. :nail:
