I also just called a real estate agent to put the house up for sale. I am done with this bullshit. Moving a bit South of the state soon. I don't mind snow but up here (NE PA) is just too much.
I hope you're not seriously moving because of 1 snow storm. There will be more but you just got here!
I am moving, but not because of the storm lol. Although it didn't help.
But main reason is we want to be closer to MD because that's where Kimmi's family is.
What area you moving too?
We haven't decided yet but we're looking at some areas in a 100 miles radius from MD/DC area since that's where Kimmi's family is and also where we play most of our shows etc.... Harrisburg is a possibility. Gettysburg too... we are also looking at some parts of DE (Wilmington, Newark). First step will be selling the house, then we will spent a few months with Kimmi's mom and look around.
Oh damn you're getting out of PA all together?
Fuck this pandemic man, I still can't believe we haven't gotten a chance to hang.

Possibly, but I'm not going very far. Wilmington, for example is the same distance from you than my current location is, so nothing changes much, I'd be just coming from a different direction. We'll hang out for sure when this nonsense is over.

You could deduce that moving is fun by how many times you've moved, Bill I've done it 1.5 times and my next move will be to where I retire.

hahaha yeah the past few years have been intense, but I hadn't moved that much before that. I was in L.A. for 21 years and before that I lived in NJ since I was 14 y.o. (except that I went to Brazil for college and spent an year in Europe for a job but both were just temporary/situational). I've had a total of 5 different addresses as an adult. So it's not THAT bad.
And no, moving is no fun at all this area was a bit of a gamble for us, we chose it mostly because it was an affordable place to move back East, but neither of us are too crazy about it.

Yeah. Once "The Office" jokes stop being fun and you realize all your gigs aren't near you, I guess it gets pretty beat in north east PA.
house is sold already. March 19 is my last day here, I'm probably staying in DC for a few months until we find a new house.

Luckily we're not getting the snow some are. We are, however, getting down to -20 F every night and barely reaching zero each day. Which is nice if you prefer being an icicle to being able to breathe. Our bedroom heater can't keep up. It was 48 in there this morning with the wife, the dogs, the cats and me all piled together in the bed. We're supposed to cross over into positive numbers late this week again. 30 degrees is gonna be t-shirt and shorts weather after almost a week of this bullshit.
Well, we finally got some significant snow. It snowed about a foot overnight, and it has been snowing all day. Looks like I'll be giving the snowblower a workout when I get home from work.
Here in NW Minnesota we're holding steady with about 2 inches of snow on the tundra, but for the past week its been -20 to -30 overnight. The Butter Dungeon is so cold I have to put on a jacket before descending into the abyss. A guys gotta check on his patriot rations every once in a while.

We got about 8 inches or so here in Southeast Michigan. Quite a bit but not awful. I’ve gotten used to a heavy snow storm at least once a winter so this is fine. If I lived further up state, what we got down here would be considered a snow shower on a Tuesday.

I love the DC area. One of my best friends from HS (and first drummer) lives around Alexandria VA. Prior to that he lived in Northwest DC. I’m no stranger to that city after a few visits. When he got married he and his wife got married in VA at around Chantilly. I flew in and rented a car just to help out with the last few days of prep. Beautiful state to drive through.

I got the hint, there's another space heater on the way.

A real deep dive into the meteorology behind the polar vortex collapse if anyone is interested. The article is a little out of date (Jan 10th) but the explanations are solid.

yeah me too. We still be staying in Rockville, MD which is a bit of a drive from DC proper but still considered within Metro DC area. Love that area, but it's pricey so it will be temporary until we decide on a new location.
