That picture you posted earlier with your dad is so awesome, it really is -- i love the big smiles, the Christmas tree/glitter and old school clothing etc, you can almost feel the joy in it - the whole picture is just pure happiness and awesomeness, I know its not easy at the moment but try to remember all the good times

Steve, if your Dad can still communicate well, now is the time to ask genealogical questions if you're curious. I'm 100% serious.
When my Mom was in hospice at home, I found out her Dad was from Slovakia. Her siblings had all passed before her and nobody had really done any research on anything. a couple years later, a few weeks ago actually, I was taking to my cousin. He had no idea his Grandpa was Slovakian. I'm glad I did some digging before she left us.

We're going to try getting a quick nap before getting to work.
Dad would *not* approve of us sluffin' off. 2 fucking bad.
Sorry to hear, Steve. Use this time to spend as much time as possible with family and friends. Have some drinks with your bros. Celebrate the good times you had with your dad. Now is the time to do that since the loss never really goes away for you, but everyone else will have to move on. I love you, brother. Stay strong. I’m tearing up just typing this right now.
Dude, my condolences to you and your family. Judging from what you said about your dad not wanting ya'll sluffing off, I'm sure I'll be the same way when it's my time. Sounds like he had a great sense of humor. Very sorry for the loss, but I'm sure he's around keeping an eye on ya'll
Very sorry for your loss, man. My condolences to you and yours.

Sorry to hear that man. My condolences to you and your family

Thanks dudes - that was July 2, 2006 - a pretty important time. We were all staying in an RV park for a quick pre-4th of July weekend out in Buelton/Solvang. We really had a great time walking the streets and shopping. The next day, we got the call that the growth under his arm was definitely cancerous (turned out to be stage 3 melanoma). That began a 3-4 year stint of surgery and clinical trials that completely eliminated the cancer but left his whole left upper side compromised, as they'd taken all his lymph nodes on that side of his chest. He had several episodes clear up until recently of getting even a small cut on his left hand/arm, which would turn into a major infection with multi-day hospital stay. We've been told that this isn't the cause of the brain cancer that took him, but it's been a LONG 15 years of dealing with this.
