I remember. Invite to hang is still out there if you are looking for something to do. I can also point you in the direction of some good restaurants, and the better beaches. I'm not a fan of the Long Boat sand, and old fat euro-seniors in Speedos is not my idea of a good beach. Seriously, a beautiful woman can't walk the beach in butt-floss but an old fat guy can wear a sling-shot. There's something inherently wrong with that.

I dont understand that either.

My white legged hillbilly ass will be white trashin' it up..Camo shorts & a black t shirt lol.

Yeahh..come closer to time I'll holler at ya before I go. Looking forward to it.

I'll chalk up my inability to read and tell dates to watching doctor who and drinking beer. ;)

Could be worse. You could be already shitfaced on vodka and have the most recent episode of Game of Thrones rolling, thanks to the wife who wants to watch it even though we've both read the books and know full well.

I'm so over GoT except for my deep-seated, seething, irrational jealous dislike.

GoT needs some Daleks to just kill everyone, but faster. With fewer paragraphs devoted to incest and creepy descriptions of eating.

thenakedarab wrote:Thanks again guys. It went well today. I met with the GM, and he seemed to like me. He was happy that I wasn't full of shit about my experience and knowledge, and had strong wine knowledge. I have another interview with the Asst. GM tomorrow when she gets back in town (he said we did it backwards because she was out of town), and if that goes well then I have an appointment with their HR person who will do a back-ground check on me, and finally if I pass that third interview I will interview with the co-owner.

3 layers of interviews? Man that's rough. I'm sure you'll do fine but I just imagine the guy who got through the first two layers just to get to the third and not be taken on.

I'm the hiring manager where I work. We have 2 layers of interviews. One with me, then one with me and the owner together. I started out as an admin assistant, then doubled as admin assistant and department supervisor, and when another manager hired lame ass people into my department I told the owner "dude if I'm going to be training and dealing with these people I need to be involved in the hiring process." So he let me, and apparently I have a knack for gathering a good pool of applicants because I now hire for all departments and even some of our sister companies as a favor.

Which reminds me, if anyone ever needs help with a resume I'm more than willing to review it and give you my .02. At HCAF there was a guy Kooter something rather. I worked with him on his resume and he was able to get a job. He said it was a result of me making his resume better, but I'm sure it was him. Either way, point is, if you want another set of eyes who look at resumes all the time let me know.

3 interviews to work at a restaurant? :freak:

When did this start happening? I heard McDonald's now requires a GED. The world is on fire.

I didn't mean it that way. I'm on your side here, it's amazing the amount of shit a man has to go through just to earn a living. Fucking ridiculous.

For the record, my men and women averaged $34/hour this season.

Had a lot hitting $40. My guys get paid, they also get 1.5 hours of break a day. My workers make more than the foremen who manage them. I learned a lot of lessons working shitty jobs- especially with management and how that game is played. I refuse to run my outfit that way.

I hope you get the gig and there are better tailwinds in your future.

Yeah, it's real bad.

This last year I had 4 kids come out to work (lots of times, we don't get a choice. Whatever crew you're given is what you're given).

They didn't have facial hair and I thought that's odd. It's Thursday, at 7am and there's kids out here with no facial hair during a time I'm sure school is in session.

So, I started talking to them in the field and noticed the awesome aroma of axe body spray and pot. I called the labor contractor and told him that he sent me children which is bad enough, but children who are lit. He laughed.

I told him to come pick up his fucking kids and the rest of the crew. We would no longer be needing his company's services.

Had a hell of a time getting new workers in due to the shortage. I had a week of no harvest due to that decision, but like you're saying, I'm not runnin my company on the backs of kids that need to be in school. That's what I told the kids, I told them there's a lot of opportunity out there and there's still time to develop your future. I appreciate your work ethic but these fields are not where a future lies. There's not a lot of vertical movement and noted that this would be their life until they died if they didnt get their shit together.

Probably went in one ear and out the other but I had to at least try to provide direction, clearly no one else is trying.
