Had a great gig the other night! (Pics included)

Post by Elessar [Sly] »

My first gig since joining the band six months ago. We had a great turn out, and we even played with Tom Hingley ex frontman of Inspiral Carpets for 'This is how it feels' and 'Caravan'. I received a lot of a attention regarding my sounds and guitar playing - which is always nice. My pedalboard proved very popular with audience and gearheads a like. And like most here, I love talking about gear. Hope you enjoy some of the pics.

Some pro-quality pics you got there and congrats on the gig! I know what it is like to go 6 months between gigs, then get back up on stage and realize what you've been missing.

Good pics and nice looking board...

...full of goodness that you wouldn't want a drunken patron to accidentally spill their drink on  A nice board always makes me twitch for that exact reason. I see you have a keyboard player as well. Very rare around my neck of the woods :) Good deal!

Yeah me too  I wear mine with the bridge pickup over my belly button, approximately. It's not Morello high, but still not low enough to look really cool like Sly.

Lefties FTW! Also, as a lefty I have no idea how you deal with being on that side of the stage. I used to bump necks with my bassplayer all the time, and my cables used to get all over the place...

Strangely I can't play properly with it much higher it hurts my wrist (I have an injury that keeps popping up once in a blue moon and wearing the guitar higher irritates it). I've never had problems with the guitar that height. It isn't as low as it looks either, I have short legs and a large torso (and I'm only 5'7").

It really was fun! Tom is really great at what he does. His own acoustic stuff is great as well.

Croydon always reminds me of getting my wife's visa at the imergration centre, that was a shitty place.

Indeed. I am well spoken though :cop:

Yeah there are several home office buildings in Croydon, and the nice ones don't tend to allow the public in (I used to work in one down there a few years back. The nicest offices I've ever worked in!).

Better call the ACLU and The Rev!

I've noticed that a lot of the people receiving services at my program are left-handed...as in a much higher percentage than is present in the general population...I should mention my program is an outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment facility! :D

I feel for you guys in purchasing gear though...left-handed equipment near me is not nearly as readily accessible as it is for us "norms"...Being in Amurricah I have a hard time finding shit in my size because I'm not a fat shit...so...you know...we all have our cross to bear breaux...

Are there clips of this show floating around?
