Every year when I turn on our heat
I get Bronchitis. WTF Lungs are clean but my bronchial tubes are full of shit. I usually go to the doctor and get a Kenalog shot but I really don't want to slow down my system due to the COVID

Re: Every year when I turn on our heat
Change yer filter(s), man. Or get basic maintenance done.
We have a yearly check-up for our whole furnace/AC where they come out and do a full run-down and cleaning on it every July or August. Haven't had a lick of trouble with breathing when switching over since we set that up.

Git yer duct work cleaned out. After it's clean, check your furnace filter every few days for few weeks.

Replace the furnace and all of the duct work.

If it's forced air, clean your ducting and filters. Also, fire the heat off during the warmer months so it can blow the ducting out while your windows are open.

Wrap the house in asbestos.

4 years on a new furnace and ductwork. Gas downflow with 16x25x4 inch filter. May look into adding a WingMan1 electronic filter system

I just purchased a whole new HVAC system and went with the Trane Clean Effects and it's the second time owning one. If you want to go with a cleanable filter type of solution, maybe that'd give you another option to look at?

Replace the boiler and radiators. Wrap the pipes in heat tape.

Thinking about getting one of these. This would just replace my filter box. I do see you can't buy these you have to have Trane install them

Re: Every year when I turn on our heat
This is the sickest I've ever been
Going on 4 weeks now with a chest cold and ears plugged up solid. Fucking doctor won't see me because she thinks I have COVID even after two negative tests are done locally.
Finally I got a bit heated with her on the phone and prescribed my own cure. Amoxicillin and Clavulanate. She still insisted on a Z-Pak because it has anti-inflammatory that would help with lung inflammation due to COVID
Finally think I convinced her I don't have COVID so she called the Amoxicillin in. Two days now and my ears are draining. My chest is clearing up and feels pretty good all but the side-effects of the Amoxicillin. Man, I hope healthcare changes back to when it sucked because it is useless as of now.

Re: Every year when I turn on our heat
I saved hundreds on heating and allergy meds by switching to thermal undergarments and wool socks.
I live in So Cal so I can pretend like this will work for everyone. But for real, in general I’ve saved a good amount by saying “Go put on wool socks” when the kids say they’re cold.

Sorry to hear that Pepi. Glad after all that nonsense that you're on the up and up. While I agree about amoxicillin, hopefully you can work through the side effects.
