Interesting topic which i don't know much about. In fact, the 1st thing that comes to mind when i hear the word blacksmith for unknown reason is Doc Brown in BTTF3 :idk:

That's a really cool hobby to have, and can be used for practical purposes.

I had a neighbor for around ten years or so that did blacksmithing out of his garage in the evenings and weekends. I visited him a few times to watch him make things. Mostly he did it as a hobby, but every once in a while he'd get a commission for something special. He had a really nice forge he and his dad had made. It was fairly big for living in a garage. He ended up with a nice supplemental income from it in the end.

I always meant to commission a sword from him but he moved away before I completed my design drawing. Maybe I'll have to hit your kid up if he sticks with it.
