We've been watching The Vow on HBO, an entire series about some of the higher ups that realized shit was whack and got out. One of them was originally filming footage of Raniere to put together a documentary about how great a guy he is so they've got tons of original footage in the show. One of the women that was branded and had that as her wake-up call is working with him. The shit they went through is fucking horrendous, and through the entire thing this Keith fucker keeps talking about how he's making the world a better place.
I never understood how people could get suckered into a cult like this, and this show is the first thing I've ever seen where they slow-roll you through the introductions enough you can actually sort of see it. I mean, I'm not a joiner to begin with so I'd be out the second they wanted to put a fucking scarf on me and start calling me some level of what the fuck ever, but it started there and just kept growing until all of a sudden a group of women is pulling another woman into a room to brand her right above her vagina with Keith's initials.
And the shit these people get slung at them when they get out of the cult makes the stories you hear about Scientology exits sound like a fucking fairy tale.
Fuck Keith Raniere and all his bullshit. May he meet with the same kindness in prison he's shown his followers.
