Cover band guys, I started a new YouTube channel

Post by bish0p34 »

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted here, as I was pretty busy before the world came grinding to a halt.

I started a new channel to give no BS, non-beginner style lessons for people who want to learn songs. The kind of songs that you may not like, and don't want to take the time to listen to...or if you have to learn a lot of songs quickly. I don't spend 15 minutes explaining the simplest songs, and assume people will have the basics down. I have around 50 vids up, and I'm constantly adding more from all the bands I've played in over the years.

I know this won't apply to many guys on this forum, but I know there's a few of you here that play in cover bands. Some of these vids I made years ago for the guys who subbed for me (if I sub a gig out, I should help them with it), and some were made so that I could relearn them easily when I would get called to sub in. Others were made for people on some forums who wanted quick tutorials. Some of the songs are very in-depth, some are just the basics...it all depends how much I like the song, or how anal the guys I was filling for were.

Check the channel out guys, if you would. Subscribe if you like it. If it's not for you (a lot of you here), but you know someone who may benefit from them, please pass it on! I'm trying to change the way I'm working within the music scene in a new world. Gigs are starting to come back around DC, but it's not like they used to be. This also gives me something to do with my time, as the Rona took my job too. It helps keep me sane.

Thanks much guys!

Actually that's very cool, not something I've seen before. I was about to say "it doesn't apply to me" but then I remembered that I actually *am* in a coverband, it's just that Corona has put us on hiatus indefinitely and rotted my brain :freak: :nerd:  :l: . Subbed and will try to interact as well to help boost your channel.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it!

I've actually been playing a good amount of gigs. Oddly enough, I've played with 10 different bands this year. A lot of them were people from a few different bands throwing a gig together with a week's notice (hence the final push to start a channel like mine) because it's hard to find a whole band that will play. I've even been taking gigs on bass as well. For a while they weren't paying, which sucks. I did earn a lot of good will with bigger clubs though. Money is starting to come back, but at a fraction of what it was. I mostly played weddings, and those gigs are going to be a while til they come back.

Funny enough, I plan on covering Whip It, and In Cars soon. I'm considering Turning Japanese too.

Thanks! I knew you'd never be interested in covers, but I appreciate the support!
