The local Meijer had PSMO Whole Beef Tenderloins for $10.99/lb yesterday. So, I grabbed a 7 pounder. I trimmed and cut it today and ended up with 2 quart baggies (half-full) of fat trimmings to render for Au Jus or gravy, 2 quart baggies (half-full) of the trimmed chain for stir-fry or chili and nine 2" filets. It was a $75 piece of meat, but value-wise, that's a whole lot of win.
They don't go on sale often, but when they do, hell, yes
I Love the smell of nitrocellulose in the morning. It smells like........Victory
