geico is evil.

they tried really hard to rip me off for a car that was destroyed by a 23 year old policy holder who rear ended me in a jacked up jeep while texting at 50mph. i was lucky not to've died. the car was 6 months in my hands, and totaled. i was sitting at a light. fortunately i wasn't injured, and didn't want to go the route of claiming injury like everyone said i should to be a decent human.

the car cost me $10k. they offered something like $5800 by offering out of state comps that didn't meet state inspection standards when i purchased the car in a state that it would have to meet said standards. i reported them to the state insurance board.

they tried to get a quick settlement by ripping me off, and it took me 2 months of fighting with them before i told them to fuck off and i subrogated. fuck that company and all the assholes who work for it trying to climb the ladder for bonuses while leaving people in the lurch and know better.

My lawyer is telling me GEICO is really not at fault because they don't have to verify the information given by the agent. It's the agent's job to do that.

She is still going to call GEICO and notify them but this is mostly on this insurance agent.

Anyway, my lawyer called them and spoke with the owner/broker and set his world on fire lol.

Amazing how the tone changes once they realize they're not dealing with a defenseless old lady anymore. She said he was super apologetic and all but cried on the phone.
They will be in touch with us again next week but looks like they're going to pay up. We also requested this agent to be removed from all accounts related to my mother.

Meanwhile we will be sending a formal payment request/intent to sue letter by registered mail today. Happy Memorial Day you cocksucker.

Attorney is correct that geico isn’t at fault. But......

This agent is in big trouble.

At best, he has an e&o claim, Pays his deductible, Your mom gets paid back, and geico fires him. He has trouble ever getting hired again in the insurance industry.

At worst, it’s elder abuse, and they throw the book at him. He owes the commission back. Pays a fine the size of the commission. Gets barred from the industry forever. Your mom gets paid back. He Could possibly do jail time as well.

Sounds like he knew what he was doing. It’s fraud.

Like with cops, there may be those that get into it for the right reasons, but they're not the ones you hear about.

And after dealing with mom's husband. I haven't met you in real life, so I can say unequivocally that I've never met an insurance agent I didn't want to strangle.

Yeah, he knows he's in trouble. The broker is claiming he didn't know what his agent was doing. The agent is probably going to be fired at the very least

we just sent the letter out requesting full payment in 10 days or we will sue for the amount plus interest plus damages, open a complaint with the NJ Insurance Council and file criminal charges.

The letters just went out, we'll see which way they'll want to go. I'm fine going all the way if I have to.

I don't have an issue with agents.

I have an issue with low-lives, scum of the earth people, regardless of their profession.

$19,275.50 is what they took from her over the course of 16 years. If they write a check for that amount, I'm willing to drop it.

If they offer any amount up to $19,275.49 I will decline the offer and happily move on to put them out of business.

I'm willing to forget about interest etc but I will not accept one penny less than they took it from her.

That is a good chunk of cash . I think you'll get that pretty soon . If they even call their lawyer it'll cost'em a grand .
