The Wrecking Crew

Post by dizzle-rock »

I have been watching a lot of 'session musician' vids ...maybe the rona boredom has gotten to me
but there are some legendary stories and people that have kept my interest.

ran across this one today about the 'wrecking crew' ....it's well done and entertaining.

and this vid is really cool as well. I knew she was a legend on bass...but she's an amazing guitar player as well.

I god damn love the Wrecking Crew film. Such a cool doc.

Beware of Mr. Baker - about Ginger Baker. Truly an enthralling tail told through the eyes of the filmmaker, bookended by separate meetings with Ginger himself. Both hysterical and gut-punchingly horrific at times. Definitely worth at least one run-through, maybe more.

He is now with Vio-Lence. It will be interesting to see what they do with him and if he sticks around.

Speaking of session documentaries there’s a Muscle Shoals documentary on either Netflix or Prime that’s supposed to be real good too. Haven’t gotten around to watching it yet though. And the classic session documentary is of course Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

I'm pretty sure the Muscle Shoals video is still available for free on YouTube. I watched it a few days ago.

EDIT: Yep, its available on YouTube free with ads. However, its the ads that can be skipped over after 5 seconds. And, IIRC, when I watched it there were only a couple of ads in the entire movie.
