Interesting one today:
Image
Blade : Gillette jack rubie shave #2. Freakin sucked with the Rex.
Razor: Rex. I sure like it, but it’s sucks with bad blades. I’m really starting to realize how truly special the blackbird is.
Brush: this ap shave 30mm rocks.
Soap: yep. Sv is fucking epic. Kind of hooked.
Aftershave: dang. These tall bottle chatillon luxe’s are cold!! But it’s not that strange synthetic stuff like terror.

I’m giving today like an 8/10 because the rubie sucks today.

Ahhhh ha!!! Smells like the cleaning solvents not stale, soiled bed sheets! :hi5:

I like Pre de Provence aftershave balm... still do but, one day, I used the loo at a local diner and whatever they used to clean it smelled exactly like the Pre de Provence.
I kind of lost interest in the balm for a while after that... one or two fucks given!
The balm is fantastic... really makes your face feel good... going to have to order a tube again. :hmm:

Awesome Razor, soap, and aftershave.

Shit blade. Stein, have you tried the diamond edge yet? It's supposed to be the most top shelf blade Super Max makes, but I hate it.

Edit: 8/10. this blade sucks.

Hadn't yet but saw this on the way home from work and decided FOR SCIENCE!

I'm gonna go with a negative on this blade, Ghost Rider. Kind of shocked given how much I love the Diamonds.

Your/my technique is usually on point, I see you used Excelsior and I did Stirling, and you went Blackbird and I went Timeless. Nothing either one of us hasn't been using for 6 months straight..

Only change here was that blade, so fuck that blade. Really scrapy, rashed up my neck a bit. Sort of pissed, I was on a roll of 9s and 10s. I'm gonna go 8 on this one.

The Blue Diamonds can be slightly rough/scrapy on the first use, but nothing like this. I'll not be using these again.

used the new razorock pre shave cube. It kind of sucks. It kind of made everything burn. Unless it was residual burn from last night's XXX experiment. Either way, shave went way rough either due to the mediocre blade or my lack of noxzema.

Just a sad shave overall. I need to get back on track with my standby gear.

Interesting one today.
WSP Rustic Cedar Citron soap. Works great. no complaints. Smells like a Push Up Treat.
Blackland Polished Dart. I bought this because it was on sale, even though I have a non-polished Dart. I'm trying to decide if I need both. It shaved great. It was pretty refreshing actually.
Sputnik on shave 2 could be sharper. I may be ready to use a sharper blade in my Darts.
Razorock badger barrel. Such a great brush.
Phoenix Red Planet - good stuff.

Overall, 9/10. Not mind-blowing, but GOOD!

Geno let me know if you decide to dump one of the Darts, interested since you picked it back up again.

This stuff is just desert island for me....no work, no problems, just a great shave. GB is a fuckin badass, Timeless killed it, the WSP is prob the best lather I have at the moment and even though I've used this stuff maybe 20 times and load it like I hate it, I've barely dented it. It's gonna last forever.

G Plats are the bomb....they're everything I dig about the Super Maxes but sharper and smoother. Gonna grab 100 after this GRUME bullshit is over.

I could use this setup every day for the next 6 months and not get bored.
