See?! I don’t feel remotely bad.

Nice score on the Rex, let me know what you think.

Re: Gillette
Brush project....love the handle, knot sucks all dick.
Starts with this:

Chopped it down:

After half an hour of pulling 5 hairs out at a time, I gave up and got the drill. Can't see it, but there's a big hole right in the middle down to the handle top (white cap part is hollow)

Haven't decided how I'm going to finish this....I might just have to grab a fucking hole saw bit and go at it slowly....the sides are pure epoxy or glue, dunno which. I'm going to have to grind it down to the edges when I get time.
Maggard's knot ordered for this, goes in when I finish it up.

SOTD:

So, the Rex is pretty badass. Good shave for the first time. Adjustable is fun. I forgot what it was like to mess with the gap on a razor. The weight isn't too much. It felt great. Looking forward to using it more.
This Antica Barberia Mondial citrus was pretty nice. It's a cheap Italian soft soap, not to be confused with the ultra expensive Antica Barbieria Colla. You can get it in Kilos at Connaught. I'm glad I bought the 100ml. It's fine, but I don't tons of it.
TFS Bobstone aftershave. Very good. not one of my favorites though.
I'm giving today a 9/10.

That Rex is beefy looking!
Tell me about adjustables! Noob questions follow...
When do you adjust? After first pass?
Or are adjustments made when the blade isn't at its best?
Is there anything with adjustable comb?
Or does everything just apply a bit of pressure on the blade, changing its pitch?

I found a new one on ebay for $200. I actually asked the Rex owner if it was legit. He said yes.
Date code even says it's from Q2 of 2019.

The Rex Ambassadors, on eBay say, “Factory Reconditioned condition. This model has the new tighter adjustment spring. It is shave ready. Razor included with original box and paperwork.”
Sounds like the new, tighter adjustment spring is the way to go?

Welp,
These fucking Astras from Amazon are old stock, so I'm going to fucking hate them. I wanted to see the damned laser etching on there. They're screen printed. Probably going to have to give these away too.

Fuck... I have 100 on the way.
I mean, I like the old ones but, I also wanted to try the new ones too. What a drag!

Busy day, hot and HUMID day, late shave

Shit doesn't have the best rep, but I fuckin love it...does exactly what I bought it for.
GB is awesome....I love this brush.

Those are used, dude. Mine was listed as “brand new”.
Looked like it had never been opened.

Someone in Poland is selling a new one for $180 with $20 shipping... he has 100% positive feedback on 11 sales...

Meh... I'll keep checking but, if nothing turns up on Ebay, I'll just get a new one from WCS or Maggards.

Saturday sotd:

Used a 40’s superspeed. Kind of loved it, but boy do I hate blade tabs under my nose. I forgot how much that sucks.
Og Russian blue. Amazing.
Vegan Vitos from Connaught. Awesome scent. Awesome lather. Awesome performance.
Tfs el capitano. Epic aftershave.
I’ll give today a 10/10. I feel good.

Re: Gillette

Old favorite....this was the first set I bought for myself after Gene so generously gifted me all the stuff that started me off. Still dig it.
GB killing it....this thing is the best brush that ever touched my face. I have the Spiffo and Turn N Shave and they look lonely, but fuck it I can't stop using this thing, it's great.
SMBD on 3, perfect shave.

Sotd:

2nd shave with this euromax. It kind of sucks. Still got a good shave, it just took effort.
Tfs divino is pretty awesome
Myrsol don miguel is one of my favorite aftershaves. It smells like viburnum flowers and carnival shoe store.
Overall a very pleasing shave. 9/10 due to shit blade.

Re: Gillette

The guys guessing on the Tradere were correct. Said he's been working on the licensing deal with the original guy for over a year.
Coming out in fall, no word on pricing yet.
They're doing both the OC and SB versions.

I was out of the hobby when the traders came and went. No idea what it was. But now that blackland will make it, I’ll probably end up buying it.

Finally had a moment to drill out my tiki guy and glue in a 28mm synth knot from Maggards.
I'm going to let the glue cure 24 hours so, that means it's slated for the Tuesday morning SOTD.
The new Galaxy s10e takes nice pics!!!
