He affected the world more than any single person that I can think of. It's amazing how much of the technology that we have today traces its origins back to Tesla. If I started listing them now, I'd still be working on the list a week from now.

He was very secretive and tried to write his notes and blueprints in a way that only he could understand, so as to keep them from falling into the wrong hands. Makes me wonder how many other inventions of his were lost as a result.

Also, the fact that the FBI confiscated all of his papers upon his death leads me to believe that he was sitting on some very important discoveries.

Often, the truly genius are borderline insane. He seemed to fit that description...

Sadly, a lot of people decided he was a quack when he claimed to be receiving electronic communications from Martians. Obviously he was mistaken, but that doesn't undo all of the inventions that he came up with that shaped the world as we now know it.

Amazingly enough, he claimed to build 3D models all of his inventions in his head (sort of like virtual reality) before ever building them in real life.

I'm not knocking the guy, he was brilliant and I admired his abilities. Just stating that extreme intelligence and insanity seem to have a fairly common link....
