Fast train to 1987

Post by fretless »

With KNAC and a few other very good rock stations doing metal shop all day long I hardly knew some of these other bands were even around . I didn't like this kinda thing back then but my ears hear things differently these days .

That's easily the best version of Shadowline. I love The Fleshtones.

One of my favorite pop songs of the 80's. At the time I was more into harder and heavier music and tended to look at bands like this as wounded little art fucks. These days I have a much better appreciation for 80's era guitar driven pop songs.

The 90s and early 2000s had its moments, the 90s was really good also

..... but honestly NOT much can touch the 80 as far as versatility and diversity of great music

Its funny i disliked that new wave music as a kid then a black guy came over from Britian and just played it everyday until i started liking it lol and there was a new wave station in the late 80s early 90s that played new wave (WDRE and WLIR) that played a ton of good music.

As much as i like rock-metal and others i really have a soft spot for this style of music

:thu:
^ Good deals with Glizard (ADA), electricdreams (Vetta) Fat Lou (Splawn) Tubesteakfortone (Marshall 3203, Riot pedal) agreed (Hafler-Radial) twisty571 (Mosvalve 962) Orbis Mortis (egnater) ~Abstract~ (JC amp) jn062181 (AXE - FX) ^

New wave was awesome. Best thing to happen to pop music ever, imo. We saw the Fixx with the Romantics and Rick Springfield a few years back and they were excellent. Killer guitar tone and dude's voice was in perfect shape.
