This is my 3rd APR soap, and they've all been amazing.

I think Maggards sells samples. I need to try more of them.

I just reread like 20 pages of this thread. It's like our personal journals. Very relaxing to read.
1. I see trends in my shaving.
Blackbird = always getting amazing shaves.
Rockwell 6S = consistently getting amazing shaves.(with the exception of days 4-7 of the trip)
Karve = consistently getting amazing shaves. (assuming you find the options that fit)
Any deviation from Russian Gillette blades = performance compromised. No reason for me to use 3rd world crapola blades anymore.
The brush seems to make a huge difference with shave enjoyment, even though it seems so simple.

I am tempted to try some shave stickage again. not sure why.

Ajax, That's badass you're using a GEM. I have one all loaded up and ready to go, but I keep chickening out. I guess I shouldn't be too scared since I can shave with a Kamisori.

I tossed a couple of soaps in the trash today. Some Serbian crap and some Turkish Derby soap. They really suck. The Derby made my hand feel dry and waxy. I glad I didn't waste a shave on it. The Serbian Palmira is a soft almond soap that lathers about as well as Williams. Pure shit.

I've decided the Sinfornia doesn't have ANY staying power. I splashed it all over my arms at midnight. Woke up at 1:40am, and all evidence of any scent was gone. It's going into office storage.

I'm going to give Tabac another try. I'm intrigued by Euro soaps again. I'm sure I'll be disappointed.

Every time I read about Soap Commander, it makes me wonder why I don't use it more. It's perfect.

This thread is my new home. I spend 100% of the day on it.

Dude if you’re into patchouli grab a sample of Murphy&McNeil’s Ouroboros. They’re legit as fuck and it’s a really unique take on that scent. I really enjoy it.

I’m in it a lot of the day too; I’m usually driving by the time you do your SOTD and always stop to read it lol

Interesting that there’s a lot of the same stuff on all our shaves;

Karve is badass for me
Timeless always works
Krona always works
SLOC kicks ass
MM always great
TFS most of the time great
BM most of the time great
MLS always great and I need to order more Kraken AS
Same on Soap Commander; think I’d use it more if I had matching AS but it’s always worked great

Brushes don’t really make a difference to me....all I have are 3 synthetics and they all work great so I’m good there

Lame on Sinfornia; that was one that I really dig the scent of the first time I tried it, when I went back again I smelled it again and didn’t like it as much, lack of staying power means no $ from me on that one

Here’s to the next 20 pages.

Gene get on your GeneShaves IG, it’s cool to have all those pics in one place to go back and check dates etc, just from my point of view. Helps.

Revising my original opinion of the Piccolo OC....actually kind of mild given what I've been using lately. Felt like a quick 2 pass; headed for bed and wanted that clean feeling.

Soap Commander disgustingly good. Lather like that after 20 seconds? Cmon...what exactly are they putting in there? I need more of this stuff....

 Wait until you try your GEM.... you won't think it badass anymore!
It freaked me out and I was hesitient too but, my curiosity won out and after two or three strokes, I realized that the Gem played just as nice as the SLOC.
I can fly through a shave, with the Gem, without any nics or razor burn.
I had my third shave, on one blade, this morning - I'm also curious to see how long the blade will last.

Gem was pretty righteous today.
Image

My thread participation is already suffering since I opened my new Instagram.

The gem was pretty nice. Not perfect but good.
Used the Teflon stainless blade.

Btw, tried to use a razorine. Hated it.

The Stirling island man. Great stuff.

The kracken smells just like ck escape on my face. Even feels the same.

Overall 8/10 I guess.

Right on! :thu:

Had a fourth shave with the GEM this morning... it wasn't bad and I have a feeling it will be able to make it through five but, not six.

New flavor of Cremo came in today, as well as my 7 O’clock blacks. Mine are Indian, as evident by the fact that everything on the packs, although written in English, say that they’re Indian. There’s even an Indian woman on the pack, and if that doesn’t sell them, I don’t know what will.

Sotd. Terre d’hermes day.

Finally used my tdh flavored declaration grooming soap. Damn, the bison tallow formula rules. Too bad they are pushing the harder Icarus base. Smells just like tdh. Btw.

Platinum seemed to tug a bit today.

Blackbird was kind of rough with this blade today. I might post an ad to see if someone would trade me the short handle for this long one.

Fine l’orange noir. Smells rougher than I remember. Maybe it’s aging. Nice menthol kick.

9/10 just because of the blade and I shaved a zit/ingrown hair.

Wanted a rerun of this with the Karve and a Derby Premium, just to see.

This shit is so weird; really good soap, but the scent changes for me hourly.....I'll walk by the bathroom and sniff it and an hour later do the same and it smells different to me.

Performed well, Karve just kills. I don't even know why I fuck with other razors, this thing is just a badass. Definitely top spot for gear I've purchased.

Menthol hit on the Fine I didn't notice last night cause slightly drunk and it was almost 11, I'd been up since 5. Dig the scent, it's been lingering for a while now.

Fifth shave on one GEM blade today… still good but, it's getting a bit wiggly. I'm going to shit can the blade… not going for number six.

Pretty good today.
Razor/Blade: Rockwell plate 5, New Sputnik. Rock and roll. Good shit. I knew I wanted a forgiving setup. This didn't disappoint.
Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing Something Torino, travel size. I think this was incompatible with some shit in my brush from yesterday. Had a hard time lathering . I was probably loading cautiously though after the fiasco with the APR FOugere Trois. I've decided I hate loading from tiny containers. Soap smelled expsensive, and performed alright. I would travel with this.
Aftershave: DON DONATO> YES! Just like I remember it. Thank you, Stein!

8/10. Meh soap, really good everything else.

Big rush today after Sir Paul concert last night. Had to use foam for the 2nd time in 12 years.

It was great. ?!?

The Rockwell is made for compromising with stuff that isn't optimal. Outstanding razor. Sputnik just shines in the Rockwell.

BM SPice = YEAH!! Awesome. Maybe not different enough from the Reserve Classic splash to justify both, but both are great.

I'm giving today a 10/10 for the sheer enjoyability.
