Such an oddball metal voice on so many levels but just breathtaking in my opinion. So classy, modern yet timeless.

Good stuff but I could never really get into Arch's voice. I much prefer Ray Alder.

We are opposites, Yarb. Though I absolutely understand why someone might be put off with Arch's tone, note choices, etc. as they are odd. But the type of odd they are just hits the sweet spot for me. I could never get into Alder. I might like him in something different but once he got into Fates; they seemed to go into "let's make our own Empire!" mode and it was really unexciting for me for4 whatever reason?

Fair enough, JT! Have you heard any of Alder's stuff with Redemption? "Snowfall on Judgment Day" is a particularly amazing album.

This is good. Thanks for the recommendation :thu: I probably should revisit No Exit as well to see if maybe my brain just didn't like what it heard at the time :hmm:

I had no idea that Weird Al Yankovic could shred a PRS like that!

J/K - that was pretty good, they are very "theatric". I made it through the whole video - even past the false ending! I wish I could hit notes like that...

I really do try to keep an open mind about music, and I appreciate the metal recommendations, JT! Some day, I may convert, brother.

To be fair; this is definitely "80's nerd grows up" metal...so the appeal is fairly limited compared to more "well known" metal options.

Also explains why JT and I can have high level "Arch vs Alder" conversations. My nerd brother!

Yikes! I don’t know who Arch is but I’ll take Alder as well.
