Think whatever you want about her. In 15 years she is responsible for a lot of his music coming out we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Personally I don't think the topic is very important. I'm always into checking out stuff Jimi did. All the music that has come out is excellent. A lot of people are involved to make sure it is done right.
The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.

It was really good. First 20 minutes or so was a typical documentary about the festival and film. Then they went into Jimis' set. Which was phenomenal. Really clean, beautiful footage. It was recorded on the 4th of July 1970. So it was pretty rad watching him play the Star Spangled Banner while fireworks were going off. The thing that really struck me was just how intuitive Jimi and Mitch were together. Billy Cox was on point. But honestly, it seemed like you could stick any competent bass player in there and they would be fine.

Overall, well worth the $10.

Yeah, I loved it.

It's kind of bittersweet for me. It seems like Jimi was at a point where all the pyrotechnics and amp fucking had passed. Like maybe he was really starting to focus on just the music. It's the kind of thing that inevitably makes me wonder what he was on the cusp of when he passed.

He'd be in his 70s' now. What would he be doing?

Either way, the movie is well worth it.
