Anyone like Alexisonfire here?
I think I remember at least one fan here. Anyway, they were one of my "new sound" bands in the mid 2000s and I still love them, dearly. They broke up almost 10 years ago but recently have been writing and are going back on tour! I was able to easily talk my wife in to going to the Brooklyn show. Never saw them live but am SOEXCITE!

I'm making the trip from Pittsburgh to NYC for the Saturday show. Are you going Friday or Saturday?
I only got to see them once before at Warped Tour in 2009. I never thought I'd get another chance to see then play, so I'm really looking forward to seeing them play a full headlining set.

I really liked that dagger through the heart song back in the day and listened to the their first album a decent amount during college.
What direction did they end up taking after that record?
Anyway its great when a favorite gets back at it and you're taking the chance to see them while you can.

Saturday sold out on me! Going Friday. Yeah, I didn't think they would play America ever again as they seem to do reunion tours either in Canada or abroad.

They cleaned up the scream vocals so you can actually hear what he's saying (aka George got better) and Dallas, who sings the cleans, got pushed more forward and that boy has PIPES. They became more post hardcore and less punk. If you want, listen to "Crisis" straight through. That's my favorite album and it came out in 2007.

Re: Anyone like Alexisonfire here?
Been a huge fan since the self-titled days. Remember seeing them back in 2003 (I think), they would jump into the pit and be going nuts when some of the opening bands were playing. This was a little after Pulmonary Archery had started playing on MuchMusic (Canadian MTV).
They definitely evolved from their initial screamo sound. I think the biggest thing is they started to write songs with actual structure. Crisis still had some pretty heavy songs while Old Crows had a more refined, catchy sound. Wade also got a lot more vocal time in the later albums which filled that middle ground between Dallas and George. I think he was actually singing for Gallows for a while.
It's gonna be an awesome show, they're fantastic live!

Re: Anyone like Alexisonfire here?
From a website and Wikipedia:
"As it turns out the group is named after the worlds only (maybe) lactating contortionist stripper turned porn star whose name was Alexis Fire and whose website was originally alexisonfire.com (don’t bother, we looked and it no longer exists). The girl obviously has a long list of admirable qualities but a sense of humor apparently doesn’t number among them and she tried to sue the band for copyright infringement."

Try the whole crisis album. That's what hooked me.
