Pretty sure I've viewed the entire inventory.
Only bummers:
1. Chatillon Lux stuff is expensive at IB.
2. Barrister and Mann stuff is expensive at IB
3. They stay out of stock for stuff I want for a long time.

Otherwise, boy have I been happy with my constant IB shopping. Razorock/IB helped change shaving for a lot of people. The company is a game changer.

IB ships fast too. What's not to like?

Used my Future clone this morning... great piece of equipment!!!
DFS with no nicks or razor burn. It's definitely the safest DE I own. I highly recommend it, especially for a first DE.

I bought a 200 pack of Kai Titan Milds on ebay a few months ago. I'm really getting in deep on the AC format.

Gotta wait on blades for the Hawk, just paid daughter’s tuition for the next quarter; seriously flat.

Is it super aggressive?

I would rate it a 7 at the most. On par with many traditional Merkurs/Jaggers.
Gillette Aristocrat = 7.5.
Gillette Red Tip Super speed = 8.5, very aggressive

Straight Razor/Kamizori/Shavette = 10.

dude.. gene, you crazy, but i appreciate ya, man. haha.. i still have an enormo box of indian gilettes (which are actually awesome), and ones with soccer balls on 'em. :D

hey-- regarding blades-- have you found ones BETTER than feathers? man, those things, my merkur, and my face seem to be simpatico-- but there's SHARPER? good lord.. not like i've tried everything-- or barely anything for that matter-- but those turds are sharp as all getout (DE's that is)! were you talking about single edgers up above?

we're gettin' a big snowstorm coming through round here tonight, but i will keep my eyes on the mailbox while i cook up schemes to hit y' back!

Blades are such a strange, personal thing.

I think feather is the sharpest de, that said, they never shave well for me. I do best with Russian blades from the Gillette St. Petersberg factory. (It’s a pretty big list)
Platinum
Nacet
Silver blue
Yellow 7 o clock
Non Indian black and green 7 o clock
Minora
Etc (lots more. Even some I don’t like)

If a feather is a 9 in sharpness, the good Russian blades are like an 8.

Btw, yeah we’re talking artist club single edge. It’s like a longer injector, and they are ultra sharp.

Hmm, so I thought the Dorco BB20 worked better in the Hawk. I was wrong. I should have had a backup razor in the shower. This felt on par with a shavette. Terrible. I should just stick to Titan Milds in the Hawk. Youch!

I must be sick or something, because the scent of this soap morphed into something that's not like Nag Champa. Still worked nicely though.

Bummer of a shave. 3/10.

Another bad shave. Water never got hot. Mamba felt like it wasn't doing anything. Minora didn't feel like a magical Swede. Kept shaving over the same spots until I was irritated. DiVino was fine. Bob Stone stung because of how crappy the shave was. I need to get back on track. Maybe do the baseline Fine soap again with my RR MJ90. Man, I hate shaves like this. I think this brush might be too friendly. I need to go back to the smaller knot. It feels stiffer and seems to lead to a better shave.

B T W.............................

I bought something COOOL! Mongoose Razors "Mingoose". It's a 3 piece single edge razor like the RR Hawk or ATT SE-1, except.............It uses Injector blades and it's stainless steel! It's out of production, and Maggard's has quite a few left, but when they're gone, they're gone.

Really dig the handle on that one, comes in a sweet box too!

What’s the diff between injector blades and regular SE blades?

The injector blade starts with the same raw steel band as an artist club blade, but it's about 20% shorter, so the length is more similar to a double edge. Plus, I just want to keep the format alive. They're nice and sharp just like the artist club.

I've never tried. It MIGHT work, but you'll have a lot of safety bar with no blade though.

THAT SAID, I know people have snapped off part of an Artist CLub blade, and used it in an injector (Like the supply co injector)

Ah, I see what you're saying...it's going to be shorter on both sides, Injector heads aren't as wide as reg SE heads, yes?

be careful with the term SE. There are at least 5 SE formats:
Artist Club
Injector
Gem
Half DE
FHS-10

Artist club being used in a safety razor is a relatively new thing. The width was considered pretty absurd to be used sideways like that. It's interesting it's caught on so well.

The injector blade works like the Artist Club blade, it's just more of a normal Safety Razor width. I would liek to see it catch back on. The Schick design was way ahead of its time, and it stayed relevant for a very long time.

Thanks for posting that Gene!
I knew about GEM blades but, had no idea there were so many other single edge blade types!
Even though my Feather ProGuards didn't come with the poker, I incorrectly thought my AC's were Injectors!

Mediocre today.
Razor: Razorock Game Changer 84. It's a fine razor.
Blade: Super Max Lou Diamond Phillips Edge. This was one problem today. It's just not very sharp
Brush: RR Plissoft Monster. I'm just too lazy to get my other brush out. This one's not doing it for me.
Soap: Mike's Natural Orange Cedar Pepper. I'm still waiting for the transcendental Mike's Experience. I'm not seeing it. I think people just stay on the bandwagon since he was one of the first hot process shave soaps like this. At least it smells decent, lathers well, and last a while. That said, performance is meh, and post shave is double meh.
Aftershave: Stubble Buster Vigor. This smelled like a million bucks yesterday when I put it on my dry hand. Today, mixed with water, it was kind of skunky and strange. The smell really disappeared too. Kind of sad about this one. I had high hopes since the stubble buster soap is so good.

Shave = 3.5/10 at best.

New stainless open comb artist club razor. Damn, this thing is super aggressive. Sort of hate it. Got a decent shave though. The spiffero kind of disappointed again. Great aftershave.

well shit.

i got bombed by gene on friday! thanks man!

a coupla tubs of shaving cream, a coupla tubes of german shaving cream, and a heap of blades arrived... and naturally my eyes bugged out. you can't keep that guy in control.

SO.. as promised, today's shave report was to use the first of 'em-- the grooming dept. Elan. stuff smells like gin, basically. so naturally, had to start there. :D

any case.. started whipping it up in the mug... surprisingly, at first i'm thinking 'wait.. shit.. this isn't MAKING lather.. WTF?'. so figured i'd just keep at it, 'cause there's NO way something this nice ISN'T gonna work well.

did. totally worth it. about a minute into whipping it in the mug, it kinda hit stride and got DENSE as hell VERY unlike what taylor of old bond stuff does..

anyhow-- really solid shave, smelled good-- sorta junipery and a little spicy- not too much. just a good sorta non bullshit pineyness, and didn't stick around much more than an hour. definitely a good'n-- and not a lick of stubble with a fresh feather on the merkur!

have a couple of more coming due to the generosity of cap'n gene! will report back on Nomad, and a REALLY nice smelling sandalwood biz by linea intenso, and the german Florena stuff, which smells like.. well.. it reminds me of england, circa 1990. all the soaps and biz smelled like this, strangely.. so it triggered a whole lotta nostalgia. will get back on that AND about a million blades.

thanks again gene!

You’re welcome, Dan!! Btw, the linea intenso is by the Tcheon Fung Sing brand we keep raving about. It should work nearly as well as the elan.

Edit: I’m surprised it took a minute to get elan to come together. Your water must be strange. I probably loaded my grooming dept pekin for 15 seconds, and worked it in my hand another 15 seconds, I was rocking at this point with infinite yogurt.

That dude over oils the soap to leave your face soft.
