Yay, I finished my jury duty service today.

I had the great fortune of being assigned jury duty on my week off during Christmas break, so Monday and Tuesday were already out. The way they have it here, I just had to create and log in to my account every night before.

Didn't have to go at all. I'm done.

I'm such a good citizen.

A few months ago i had to go to Jury duty and it took 3 days for the jury selection for the trial that i was among the potential jurors for. On the final day of jury selection, they selected the final jurors and alternates and then said everyone else is excused.

Last time I received a jury duty summons, I completely forgot about it, and came across it again the day AFTER I was supposed to go. Called them up, told them what happened, and they said -

'you are lucky we didn't need you, but there could have been a warrant issued for you'

never been called again for at least the past 10 years.

First jury I served was a heroin dealer, and that was my first source of income after graduating from college. Fun time.

Second jury was a domestic, and I went to the Italian restaurant across the street from the Dane County Courthouse for lunch. Great food.
