Anyone belong to the AAA
Is it really worth it? I see where they will only tow up to 5 miles

Basic is 7 miles, Plus is 100 and Premier is 200 once per year and 100 beyond that. My parents have Basic and I have Plus. My thinking was that I live in South Florida and most tows will be more than 7 miles. Plus I'm shallow and I like the gold card. I think the Premier only makes sense if you have an RV or boat. Most of the other benefits are pretty similar. Premier gives you extra points and insurance for travel related expenses. I have had a couple of cars with no roadside plan where it made sense, but mostly I have joined because I save money on hotel stays, e.g. Hyatt, Westin and Sheraton all give you 10-15% savings with free breakfasts. Sometimes you can get similar discounts with online booking. I had a really bad experience on my honeymoon (Hotels.com sold me an overbooked hotel), so I only book through the hotel's official website, whenever possible.

Ry pretty much nailed it - it's not that much more to upgrade one notch to get the longer towing allowance.
As for the hotel discount - I usually just ask at the front desk when checking in - and have never been asked to show a valid card as proof - so that discount is pretty much available to everyone.

I have AAA premier RV or something like that on my daily drivers. 200 miles towing IIRC. I haven't had to use it in about 10 years.
My old Chrysler's have roadside assistance as part of my Hagerty insurance policy. Flatbed towing standard and I had to use it earlier this year for the first time.

I've been a member pretty much since I started driving. Saved my ass several times and more than paid itself. My plan covers 200 miles of towing.
