Ever since Billy linked Dredg...

Post by RyanDistortion »

... I've had the catch without arms album stuck in my head. Did some research and the guitar player uses a '68 tele and a jcm900 (fender combos, too). So, I plugged my tele in to my jcm800 and use helix for all the verbs and delay stuff. I forgot how sick a tele and Marshall is. Been jamming these first 2 tracks and it's a lot of fun to play as well as stuff I wouldn't typically play. Y'all should tele a Marshall some time today :D

Marshall + A Tele = Good Shit...... the bassist in my band rather me play my $300 G&L Tribute Vs my $1500 Musicman in to my plexi clone lol..... If the G&L played a little better I'd likely use it for WAY more songs too.... kinda looking at the new Fullerton line they've released now starting around $900.... but first... I need a combo amp lol

Yeah, son. Sounds like you need a proper tele. I hear good things about the Fullerton series.

RE: dredg, I loved their first album 'Leitmotif'. Pretty unique sound for 1999. I progressively lost interest after that.

Check it.

the Tribute is a great guitar and especially since I put the middle strat pickup in its become SUPER versatile... but in terms of feel and ease of play the Musicman stomps all over it.... tone wise it holds it own for sure.... I was looking at the Sterling Valentine model since it's based kinda on a tele but has the Musicman neck carve.... hopefully I could find one when I'm in Orlando in the next couple weeks.
