HHD's
I know stuck in the 70's and still using HHD's wtf .. but Thank God for win error checking . My tower came to a painfully slow speed of almost stop . ran error check on startup . Yay fixed . Thank God ...and I guess Mr. Gates too.

Windows 8? 
Do yourself a favor and buy an SSD and a copy of Windows 10. Use the SSD as the boot drive (for Windows 10) and use your existing hard drive as a secondary. All of your data will still be there and you can move it to the new SSD as you have time/see fit. Faster drive, better O/S, more storage space: win/win/win...

Thank, God... I was going to mention that 7 was better than 8, but if you had to move to a different O/S, Windows 10 would be the most logical...
