Real simple, because at 32C(90F) it would be hot outside, not freezing water like god intended.

Celsius fucking sucks. No subtlety to it. The wider scale is needed to report weather precisely.

Why is water the be-all-end-all of temperature? Because of some arbitrary decision by a bunch of eggheads? I boil water all the time and have no problem figuring it out using proper American methods.

I don’t even remember how to use fahrenheit anymore, Celsius is much easier to understand 0 is ice and too cold and 50 is way to hot.

At this point 90% of the world uses Celsius. We're kind of one of the few holdouts. It made talking about the weather in Ireland a bit confusing, trying to equate temperatures here to over there. Because let's face it, everyone likes to talk about the weather if they have nothing else to talk about.

Also no I couldn’t just look it up on my phone because if I was at a place without WiFi I had no internet. And i wasn’t about to get charged through the nose by paying for roaming data. Also, I forgot the damn formula from chemistry years ago.

holy cow that's a convoluted way to do it. I do this:

F --> C Subtract 32 then divide by 1.8 or 9/5

C --> F Multiply by 1.8 then add 32

But usually I just do it in two button pushes on my HP 35s.

H20

Solids are usually denser than liquids and should sink. Exception is ice. Ice on top = fish and other underwater life survive the winter.

1 gram of water = 1 milliliter
