Met my guitar idol today “Uncle Josh”...

Post by Harry_Manback »

...and no, I didn’t get kicked in the face (before you smartasses ask). Ran into Josh Homme in our hotel lobby. He was super cordial and even posed for a family picture haha. I’ve been a huge QOTSA fan since forever so I was pretty star struck, all I could muster was: “I’m a big fan. Man you’re huge. I think I’m gonna shit my pants.”

I know right? Haha! He was actually very cool and didn’t act put out (even if he was). We made it quick to respect his time and didn’t make a scene. My son is in a band and has covered a couple of their tunes - he shook all our hands and was very nice.

That’s cool! And agreed about Nick, he was a great member.

The “family pic” was a bit much in hindsight but it was my wife’s spontaneous idea...she was so excited. You can see the disdain in his eyes.

Not personally. I have just been a fan since Blues for the Red Sun. Didn’t dig the first album “wretch” so much.

Highly likely - this was in Vancouver BC where the weed flows free.

Got into them on Sky Valley. QOTSA never grabbed me.
