Black Sabbath with Tony Martin

Post by trey85stang2 »

Why was this era of black sabbath shit on? I recently started listening to cross purposes, and realized it was a fantastic album and I regret that I ignored it for almost 25 years. Going to pick up all the tony martin black sabbath cd's but they are pretty pricy since they apparently have never been reissued.

The Eternal Idol and Tyr are fantastic. Make sure you get the deluxe reissue of The Eternal Idol, it has a second cd with Ray Gillen on vocals.

I'll have to give Forbidden another listen. I remember not liking it at the time of it's release, but either way a re-recording would be something to look forward to.

Because it's not Ozzy and for some reason people love that low-talent fuck.

Cross Purposes basically feels to me like Iommi listened to Alice in Chains and wanted to show them how it should be done. (*I love Alice in Chains, this isn't intended as an insult.) Eternal Idol, Headless Cross, and Tyr are all great too.

I ordered everything but eternal idol (mainly because its already streaming online) so headless cross, tyr, cross purposes and forbidden are on their way. I have a road trip in a couple weeks so they will be playing most of the time!
