RIP Tim Calvert

Post by JiveTurkey »

Passed away from an aggressive form of ALS. Monster fucking guitarist and songwriter. Was in Forbidden and later in Nevermore. Dude had one of the best live tones I've ever heard as well. Went on to become a pilot. Seriously underrated and a big loss.

I saw them on the Politics of Ecstasy tour and that was where I heard his ungodly tone. I think he was running a Landgraff rack rig of some sort? Sh!t absolutely slayed \m/

Dude was a beast. I saw Forbidden with Sanctuary and Death Angel back in the day. Forbidden's guitar tone ruled that night.

His tone the one time I saw him still haunts me all these years later. Just beyond killer, classy metal tone. I'm glad someone on here knew who I was talking about

Honestly; the only Forbidden album I didn't much like was the first one. Too raw fir my tastes still. Twisted, Distortion and Green were all killer and wayyyyyyyyyy underrated. The last album they put out a few years back was ferocious as well. Too bad they broke up.

Yeah these guys and Vio-Lence were two bands I dug a lot that never seemed to take off.

I remember listening to Forbidden, Faith or Fear and Vio-lence all about the same time while thinking they were going take over after metallica/megadeth/anthrax/slayer shit thier collective panties. RIP Tim.

I never did listen to Faith or Fear. There was a bunch of those 4th wave thrash bands a lof of which were awesome yet just the glut of all of them trying to make it killed the whole genre.
