STP is back..

Post by redeyes »

New singer. I felt it, he did the song justice. I am a f'n huge STP fan and it makes me happy to see them playing again after Weiland died.

The singer sounds great. It's a shame they played the song in the most limp-dick possible way, though :freak:

They literally found a guy that sounds and moves just like Scott. So weird to see that.

I wonder how much of that is just natural and how much he acts it out. Like a tribute band frontman, he's definitely taking on the role, and you can't deny he sounds damn good.

OP reminded me of this piece I saw late one night as a young teenager, which is what originally hooked me on STP. Ended up finding a bootleg of it many years later - you know, on CD which none of my devices will play anymore. We need an old as dirt emoji...

Right?! Like, that arrangement made me actually angry.

New singer sounds great, but the fact that he's trying to look and move like Scott makes this feel like a decent tribute act and not much more. Just be yourself dude. I love me some STP, especially Purple (prob one of my favorite records from high school), but I'm not hyped about this "Elvis Impersonator" Weiland cloning lol.

You don't see William Duvall tryna look all Layne Staley.

My first thought when I watched the Trippin on a Hole video was how much he looks like Layne Staley!
