Re: Game, new, play it.
you're playing on PC or Xbox?
Re: Game, new, play it.
Yeah go spicy to get your gun play in and learn how the guns handle. I spent the first few hours avoiding the spice (rubber banding and textures not loading were a contributing factor to this, since fixed in 1.0) to then only get burned in the mid game as I had no idea how to hit my targets.
A tip I pass on to my buds when they start playing is to grab a gun from the tables in the Erangel lobby and practice controlling full auto spray. The first 5 to 6 rounds with most guns will usually only have vertical recoil so aim at someones torso and then drag the mouse down as you fire to keep the aim on the torso. In the early game it's this that will keep you alive. The longer range shots will come with time. They're worth practising in the lobby occasionally but in the game proper you'll probably be using a scope so it's of limited utility compared to spray control or quickly switching between targets accurately.
As a general rule I keep my guns on full auto and only drop to single fire if I'm taking a long range shot. There is nothing more upsetting than getting in a close range fight, having them dead to rights, clicking fire and then a solitary round plinks them while they hose you down with half a mag.

yeah..... getting the guns on the tables in the waiting area is solid advice. Even getting the grenades etc and getting those mechanics down is a good idea....

I play on PC. My sons will prob get the xbone version once the bugs are ironed out.
Thanks Zo, its a solid plan to try weapons on lobby. I have never been a headshot specialist, as my quick reaction is always center of mass. Also my mouse sensitivity is very high for close quarter ads control in all my fps games. But i may have to revisit this tactic for pubg. Also I am thinking about getting one of those proper gaming headsets..

The Xbox version isn't that buggy... for $30 its about where you'd expect it to be IMO
Think I'm gonna try First Person view later and see how that goes

Re: Game, new, play it.
I was a high sensitivity twich guy for ages but it doesn't really work in pubg so well.
If you have good headphones already then I wouldn't get a gaming headset. Buy a clip on mic or an antlion modmic. I have a corsair usb headset and the sound quality is beyond atrocious.

I grabbed a Logitech G433 just for this game; it's the only one I play on PC...good clarity, pretty comfortable, volume controls, mute button etc...dig it and it was only $99.

I'm terrible at this game, I can see why it's a ton of fun though. I haven't played enough to know where to eject so I usually have to run to where everyone is. I die around the 50th person mark.

Dude drop hot to get used to the combat, otherwise you’re gonna run around looking for people and die before you ever get to shoot.
On the desert map, drop Los Leones and Pecado, on the other one drop School and Pochinki.

For anyone looking for something a bit faster paced but equally brutal, grab day of infamy. It's basically insurgency but set on ww2. Playing it definitely improves your situational awareness and twitch aiming.

Checked some vids, looks cool. What’s the deal, can you run two man squads or is it all the randoms in a 16 man thing?
PUBG: creeping around getting 2-3 kills per game is cool; I dig dropping hot sometimes just for fun, but the stealth thing is badass UNTIL you’re top 5 or whatever....deadly silent, no one shooting and then motherfuckin BLAMBLAMBLAM sniped while in a bush. Ain’t gonna lie, I screamed like a girl and dropped my controller lol

Switched servers. Figure if Asians can do it to us, I can do it to them. Switched to their server, I’m now top 8% in the Asian part of the world lol. Zero cheaters, even in TPP, which is weird. Apparently they don’t cheat on their own servers...

Apparently you can be jailed for cheating at games in China. Not sure if this is true, but i guess it may be to some extent lol..

There were headlines a couple weeks back on Steam about over 100 cheat makers being busted and put into prison.
Reason being that they’re not using it to just cheat; they’re selling all the crap they get when they win and use the BP for crates, which makes it theft.

It has a whole bunch of game modes which are either pvp or co-op. Kinda plays like CoD2 (not MW) which in a way is kinda cool. Good palate cleanser.
I've mainly been playing pvp team games. The matches are padded with bots but they will headshot you if you pop out in the open so they're no joke!
It's cheap on cdkeys. I think I only paid something like £6 for it.

Re: Game, new, play it.
I also tried the china server & did a good bit better! Not sure why.
Re: Game, new, play it.
There is a general consensus that Asian players aren't as good, which I'm not sure I believe. The real issue is probably peeker's advantage due to you having higher ping. Because of the low server tick rate if you play aggressively then you will see and react to someone before your position is reported to them. Lots of people bitch about this on Reddit and this is one of the main reasons people want China to be region locked. The new beta has quietly added a ping limit in match making so if your ping is over 200ms you won't be able to join that server.

Re: Game, new, play it.
Played a round with mix master Marc G today
Admittedly, we got armed up pretty early so there wasn't much pillaging necessary, so we spent 80% of the game bull shitting and getting to know one another. He has a funny accent. But we ended up in 8th with 2 kills. I got ran over while looting a fresh kill cuz I needed 5.56 and he got aced trying to revive me. 10/10 would dock and play with him again

2nd place twice, 3rd place twice. Fuuuuu!! It just seems like my gun wont actually hit my target. Its like the marker is always off.
Re: Game, new, play it.
What kind of range? You need to compensate for bullet drop and also velocity if you're aiming at a moving target. For most weapons you need to use a 1:100 rule, i.e., for every 100m on a target moving across your bearing then aim 1 character model width ahead of them, 2 at 200m and so on.

I'm not the one with the accent..... lol
It was a good run, I like that place we dropped...good loot off the bat, will have to remember there... I think our mistake was not being more aggressive with those two guys we eventually killed.... after we knocked out the first guy we should gave rushed them.....

I was about 30-50m away, dead on headshot. He wasn't moving. I had lots of time. Holo sight, akm, point directly on head, click. Nothing.
I do try to compensate for shooting ahead of moving targets, although i am not dead on at this point, i take my time to get a good aim vs spraying and praying.

We did a good job of team wiping. Your high low pincer suggestion was perfect. We fucked up by sticking around to loot the bodies with the circle so small. That's a no no but I needed ammo. It was ultimately my down fall

Re: Game, new, play it.
New strategy with my duo buddy; he keeps them busy, usually knocks one or gets em low enough that they’re freaking out, and I’ll bounce out a side door and flank em for the kills. Shit works and they hardly ever see it coming. They’re both always focused on him. We’ve gotten like 6-7 kills apiece per game like this lol....people always rush into buildings we’re in and we stay quiet and murder em.
They always scream “FUCKIN CAMPERS” at us but in reality we’ve always gotten into those buildings like 20 seconds or so before them.

Re: Game, new, play it.
played some solo sessions yesterday.... didn't do amazing BUT finally feel like I'm getting in to my groove with the game.... I wrecked some people with the Uzi which has quickly becoming my go to gun for close quarter fights...
