New Bass Day..
I started on the bass before I moved to the guitar.. A friend of mine sold me a Ibanez Soundgear 4 string bass that has EMG active pickups in it. I swapped the battery and cleaned it up and oiled the fretboard, and it is looking pretty sweet.. I'm thinking about getting a Gallien-Krueger combo to play through.. My bass skills far surpass my guitar skills. I hate to admit it, but I may be a bass player after all..

Congrats! I had a sound gear the first yr production and they were great sounding. Mine had the emg's and active eq. I sold it off during tough times and missed having a bass around so around two yrs ago picked up an old 75 fender mustang bass. Since I play the guitar having a short scale bass around is fun to play.

Re: NBD
Nice bass
I also play bass as much as I play guitar. The GK looks fine, maybe a little underpowered if you're going to practice with a loud band or play live, but since it has the chain out output, you can probably get any powered speaker in addition if needed. I actually thought long and hard about setting up my two powered PA cabs and a Pod XT pro with the bass pack as my rig. It sounds glorious, so it would've been no problem. The bass is usually lined anyway.

This made me laugh harder than it should have. Is this now going to be a thing that people say?

It cost $65.00 for the bass.. A friend had it in pawn and told me I could have it if I got it out.. Pretty good deal with the EMG's..

Cool man! I need a bass because I'm pretty sure I'd be better at it than guitar.....now granted this wouldn't be tough.....
The roar and rumble of some sweet bass lines are soooooo nice.

Congrats. I am *not* a bass player, but I got a cheap Squier 5 string Jazz in trade a while back & have been using it to put basslines down for an ongoing home recording project ~ having a ton of fun doing it, I have to say! And I have much more appreciation now for real bassists...
