I've got a few.

In order of getting them.

My first, in 2010.
Image

My second on my right calf, after my dog Marshall died in 2011.
Image

My third, started early 2012 final session was May of 2012.
Image

I don't have any good photos of this one but this one was an addition to the above to help tie it into my back and will ultimately lead onto my chest that I'll get next winter (I don't get tattooed when its nice out).
Image

My most recent. Lyrics from my favorite Propagandhi song, on the left side of my right calf opposite of the Marshall tattoo.

I've got plans for my left chest, left side, and for my entire right leg.
This will take years to make it all happen because of how picky I am.

Thanks.
Except for the first all the others were my personal designs tweaked by my artist to fit properly.
I'm not the pick art off the wall kind of guy, or one to just trust the artist can nail whats in my head.
I've developed a really synergistic relationship with my artist so I always leave super happy and with something better than what I walked in with.
Unfortunately the pictures don't really do the piece on my arm justice, or at least thats what people always tell me.

I did not know you lived on the west coast, thats rad man.

Nice stuff guys! I just have a couple crosses on the inside of my wrists so far. I want more, but I always find other things to spend money on.

I did learn be choosy about your artist. Mine look old and faded and have pretty much since shortly after I got them. If I get more work done, which I want to, I'll probably get them touched up in the process.

I really want to get some version of Cloud, my avatar done. Probably on a shoulder or my upper back, but I got to decide to save the money for it first.

This is something I avoid by never having any tattoos that contain any words in any language. :cop:

I know tribal stuff is frowned upon here, but it is an old tattoo.
Its a actually a sketch I did and a lot the shapes have hidden meanings to me (nothing too much just things reminding me to think before I act and that kind of bollocks)

I will have to take a better pic, it looks a little better than that.

I'll never frown upon a tattoo that meets those criteria unless it's a laughable failure artistically, which yours certainly is not. :thu:

The tattoo I posted upthread is something my wife (fiancee at the time) drew freehand, means something to us, and we each have a matching one.

I think most of the tribal hate is directed at people who felt they wanted or needed to have some sort of tattoo, had no idea what to get, and walked into a shop and pointed at a piece of flash on the wall, saying, "I'll take one of those."

Bugs is the man. you pay for what you get but i know you understand stuff like that. 5 years later the colors look just as vibrant as when it first healed. plus most dont think and create like he does, i want to purchase some paintings from him. he is a genius.

keep us posted on what you get and i would try to hurry, when i got mine done he was talking about retirement or slowing down.

a metric fuck ton, lol. i really dont remember to be honest. 200 bucks an hour plus tip.

he only does 3 hour sessions too so it took over a year mainly bc i wasnt making a ton at the time and had to space out the sessions.

every skin type is different too, he said mine didnt take the ink that well and he had to keep going over the same parts. all in all though i couldnt be more satisfied, its def a style you dont see everyday and it looks like its aging really well. its for sure not the type of thing you look back and say, well it looks like hell but i saved 500 bucks so that is good.

That's actually a more helpful answer ($200/hr.) than if you just said ""$1100".

I'm thinking 6-8 hours so, about $1500. Plus tip.

What's a standard tip? 10%-20% ?

I've been writing for years. I've been spelling for nearly most of them, and I still spent about an hour on Google one night, making absolutely sure that "Don't Panic" was spelled and punctuated properly.

And then did another ~30 minutes of re-Googling after I got the damn tattoo, because I got all dumb paranoid about it. I still get these weird grammar pangs every once in a while, and have to convince myself that, yes, I did get the goddamned thing right the first time.

I'm probably going to get "Bourbon" tattooed on me, and I'm sure that's going to be at least a couple hours of dumb paranoia, as well.
