Incoming new Mic day.
So about a week ago or so I got my first dynamic mic. It's a Pyle PDMIC78, their not so subtle SM57 clone. While I know at not a real 57 for what it is I thought it sounded good. So I decided I wanted something slightly different to expand upon it. I was actually leaning towards a proper SM57 to use and compare but I felt they might be too similar. So instead I ordered a Sennheiser e906. I was really looking into the 609 but I found a deal on the e906 for $140. Kind of hard to turn up at that price. So it'll be here in a few days. Any tips/tricks/placement ideas are much appreciated. I'll be micing up Creamback Hs and Greenback Ms with it.

The e906 sounds great. VERY similar to my 421.
Put it right in front of the grill in the middle. in front of the dust cap.

yep.. was just gonna say, i put em at the edge of the dustcap RIGHT on the grillecloth. if you pull em out further, they roll off bass basically instantaneously.
i have a 609 and like it for a real sting-y mid gain crunchy thing. mic got toof.

The e906 is a awesome mic for guitar. I've been using mine to mic my my guitar cab live lately. Its fast easy set up and has great sound. Before using it, i used to use my sm 57 with cab grabber which was good too.

Ok I just got this thing today. Shipping hang ups and I had to go out of town. I love this thing. I'm getting the amp tone with zero EQing through the DAW. It's just a more natural response across the board. All I'm doing is hanging it directly in front of the dust cap of my Creamback. Honestly, my mic experience is limited but this one set the bar very, very high for me. I'm gonna be finishing my bands demo with this thing.
