Wow, thanks for the well written information, Squatch. I don't take it on the weekends so I can cleanse my system for lack of a better term. I try to only take it on demand when I'm working, and even then I only take 1 - 10mg IR a day. My doctor wanted to prescribe me 20mg XR like I used to take, but I requested the lowest dose. After 6 months I still feel it provides the desired effect. 20mg XR sends me to the euphoric state, and that's where I don't want to be on a daily basis. I also don't experience a crash in mid day on the 10mg and I don't really notice when it's wearing off. 1 French press worth of coffee each morning, and that's all the stimulants I need for the day.

I can't say I've ever experienced any withdrawal symptoms, but it's possible I just missed them. I know on Monday if I take the pill and chase it with a strong cup of coffee I still get that euphoric feeling, but only slightly. Tuesday - Friday I just feel the effects on my concentration, and it doesn't provide the energetic feeling. That's my ideal right there because it's usually worn off completely by the time I get home and making dinner. It doesn't cause me any sleep issues at all.

Sounds like you may metabolize amps a little slower than most, which is good bc if u can take 1 adderall and it lasts long enough, then u might stick with that since you may be one of the people that vyvanse lasts a full 14 hours for. . Adderall lasts right around 6 hours for me and vyvanse lasts about 10 or 11. Vyvanse calms me down almost as much as a klonopin. I can take a vyvanse and if I don't drink coffee, all I notice is the noise has stopped and perfect clarity. Adderall is a bit more motivating and sort of feels like vyvanse and a bit of coffee. vyvanse is a bit more clear but both similar.

The l-amphetamines in adderall are responsible for more norepinephrine than dopamine and the d-amphetamines are responsible for more focus. Vyvanse is solely d-amphetamine, so again, a little clearer and calmer.

Adderall is mostly d-amphetamine, not levo...like 75:25

Vyvanse is essentially inactivated d-amphetamine; it has a lysine molecule attached to d-amphetamine, which gets cleaved off in the blood stream. It metabolizes INTO d-amphetamine (whereas adderall is already comprised of the stuff).

My ochem is rusty and I had to review some stuff, but I do remember the vyvanse turning into the stimulant in the blood part.

Wow, modern day drug overload. Now I want some vyvanse. I have a hard time concentrating, and ADHD has been a possibility. Never been tested, but either borderline aspegers or adhd is pretty strong possibility. I don't believe in a magic pill, but not opposed to medication assisting in success.

Off Adderall I have an insanely high sex drive. Borderline sexual addition is how it's been described. On Adderall it's dropped down to what my friends describe as normal. Instead of making decisions that revolve around sex, I am now focusing on important things. I'm also less sympathetic to negativity in my life. It's easy to cut losses and move on these days because I can evaluate the level I can tolerate certain behavior and make clear decisions on whether to leave them in my life.

I also drink way way less than I used to. The desire is almost entirely gone.

Really no need Dave. Your use is not even close to my daughter. She was taking as high as 6 (dose?) a day. It altered her thinking process. She became so 'self-centered' and thought she could do anything she wanted without paying the price. Adderall is a good drug for many ... if used correctly Good luck with the finding of a comfortable life I've been doing it for many years

Aah, Adderall. I tried it for a month; didn't do much for me. I had been on other ADD meds for years prior, and this did nada.

When I was growing up, there were no meds to fix kids.... everyone just had different personalities. The kids who caused trouble, were simply put in special ed classes.

Drugs, including adderal, caffine, ritilan alcohol, etc., should only be used in moderation or, you'll fuck yourself up worse than if you did not take them.

I took speed, in college, to pull an all nighter to write a term paper... the paper wound up being a bunch of un-though-out gibberish and only 15 pages... got a D.
I should have written a little every day, for a week or so, rather than try to write 20 pages in one night. I did learn my lesson.
