Just read that as well. Only playing 4 or so shows this summer though. Think he will do one last solo album?

Good deal. Better fit than Gus G. I actually really wanted to see Zakk Sabbath but they weren't anywhere closeby.

I hope he brings extra chorus pedals.

I think so. And I think they will book more shows too. I don't see Ozzy retiring anytime soon. He's the type of guy who would be crazy bored if he's not doing his thing...

I saw Sabbath live about 9 months ago. Ozzy sounded fine.

You mean do crazy drugs. He is better active for sure, when he gets complacent, he seems to go back to bad habits.

If this means Gus focuses more on Firewind, I'm all in favor of this.

I can't stand Zakk post-'96 or so, and I can't stand Ozzy. So them consolidating back and Gus doing his own thing again is a win/win for me.

Gus G will go down in history as one of the least remembered Ozzy axemen.

Right below Brad Gillis and just slightly above Bernie Torme.

Yeah. Me too! I mean playing with ozzy is a world projection opportunity, signature gear come along etc, but he always said he was just a hired gun (not officially). Kind of like Joe Holmes. Replaced zakk wylde, then zakk wylde replaced him.

In 2010+ in an interview, gus g even said that it was the logical thing to do (for ozzy to have zakk wylde back in the future). And issued a very classy goodbye about ozzy having zakk wylde back.

But for everybody having seen gus g live with any of the other bands he was in (arch enemy included!) along with his solo band etc...Man playing with ozzy was time wasted. Whereas for zakk wylde is family time. I did appreciate that gus g played the songs (for ozzy) with fan service in mind (meaning never fucked with the solo cores etc AND what a clean guitar player even in high gain AMAZING for me...whereas alex skolnick for example usually always ends up changing. Another non named ozzy brief flirtation lol).

It wouldn't be half bad for ozzy to have TWO guitar players live full time though (kind of like ozzy and friends shows in the past). I guess sharon would see the bills and have her silicone explode in her tits and pus#$ before her head lol.

Say what you want (about who did you think was the natural match for ozzy) but gus g never played half bad.

Never liked the songs or the tone. Not a bad player, just not for Ozzy. He sounds like a thousand other guitarists. Ozzy always had a knack for getting great guitarists with a unique sound and style. To me Gus is a dime a dozen guy who sounds & plays like everyone else.

If I was picking Ozzy's guitarist, I'd say Doug Aldrich would be a perfect match.
