A Perfect Circle - live

Post by dizzle-rock »

I saw them Saturday night in Tulsa, OK. They were awesome imo. They played a ton of songs from all of their albums.

If you are anywhere close to an upcoming show I would highly recommend seeing them live.

their mix was really well done, beautifully layered ambient and rockin guitar tones. Great playing and I don't think Maynard hit a bad note all night.

their set was not fucking around either.... about 2 hours total playing time with maybe 3 or 4 seconds between songs.

stage production\ lighting was simple yet beautiful.

they didn't do an encore which I thought was weird and maynard had his back to the crowd as is normal for him.

the opening band was called 'Prayers' out of San Diego... they describe themselves as 'Cholo Goth'. lol.

most of the crowd didn't know what to think about them so they pissed off the 'knuckle draggers' which I enjoyed.

think beastie boys, Depeche mode and rage against the machine as a hardcore dj\synth duo.

overall... this show will be good for your soul if you are into that kinda thing.

kickass! :hi5: hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I'm a pretty big fan and was impressed. they sounded really good.

from what I could tell Howerdel and Iha were both playing Les Pauls, I don't know what they were using for effects but the delay tones were beautiful.

crunch tones were big and warm and sat perfectly in the mix... the bass tones were awesome as well. harmony vocals were on point. no complaints.

I've caught Puscifer, APC, and Tool within the last 2-3 years and as far as Maynard's performances I'd say his least best was Tool. With Tool he only seemed half committed. I honestly think he's just happier with the other acts.
