Izzy Stradlin
Is anyone here a fan of his solo stuff? I've been listening to my old CDs this morning and found this one. Really good stuff.

I loved his first solo album. But I haven't listened in 20 years or so. Great Rock&Roll.

Mesa Mark III actually, for this whole record and for most of his GnR work as well.

Re: Izzy Stradlin
Doesn't surprise me
Sounds fucking great.

Sounds fucking great.
Re: Izzy Stradlin
I'm not wild about his vocals but I love Izzy. That tone is bad ass and like a relaxed GnR. Damn Dave bring me one of your Marks.

Re: Izzy Stradlin
Great stuff. I actually prefer his playing to Slash.
Re: Izzy Stradlin
I literally wore out the first CD when it came out. Big fan of that record. They were a big thing in Atlanta, since Rick Richards from the Satellites was on guitar. Saw em live, Rick was playing a LP Jr straight into a couple of 2-12 tweed Kendricks and, iirc, Izzy had a couple of 60's era Fender heads, maybe Dual Showman? Awesome show.
Re: Izzy Stradlin
Very cool. I need to check out more of his stuff.

yeah it was his choice though. He seems like a bit of an introvert and he's set for life on Appetite sales/royalties alone.

Re: Izzy Stradlin
According to Slash, Izzy never wanted to put ALL of the work into being a part of G&R. The music was what he was into . All of the extra bullshit was more than he wanted to deal with.
Although I'm sure Queen Axl had something to do with it.

Re: Izzy Stradlin
In Duffs memoir, he said Izzy was the baddest motherfucker he ever met. Also he once played a gig pre GNR with Izzy in another band who was dressed in drag.

Some guys like a challenge. Not me.
