Did anyone see Iron Maiden Book of Souls tour?

Post by JiveTurkey »

They are coming around again this summer and I would really like to go. I don't want to go if it is one of their tours where they play all the new stuff and none of the old stuff. I get it that they're bored with Run to the Hills but I need the classics :cop:

I watch a lot of Live from Darryl's house (if you've never seen it, I highly recommend it). On a recent episode (Kenny Loggins maybe), they were lamenting playing their worn out hits repeatedly for 40 years "the curse of writing a good song" as darryl put it. Never really thought about it from that perspective before...

That said, JT... Never seen Maiden live, but I hope you get your Run to the Hiiiiiiiiillllllllllllsssss!!!! :rawk:

I saw them on the first stop, so the set list may have changed. They played Children of the Damned, The Trooper, Powerslave, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden, The Number of the Beast and Wasted Years. They did not play Run to the Hills or Two Minutes to Midnight. We got the premiere of several songs off the new album: If Eternity Should Fail, Speed of Light, Tears of a Clown, The Red and the Black, Death or Glory and The Book of Souls. They also played Blood Brothers since it was the first show since Steve's dad died. Would I see it again? Hell yeah.

 I've seen it (and it is awesome); but I was confused what the connection between Hall, Kenny Loggins and Iron Maiden was going to be  I can see their point but you know; suck it up!

I like pretty much everything other than Blaze Bailey stuff and Dance of Death on. I kind of gave up on their new material but it doesn't mean I would say no to the concert versions. I actually DON"T want to hear Run to the Hills  so that would work out perfectly!

yes. I saw them in Tulsa the last go round. had a great experience.... just by luck our hotel room was on the same floor as the band.

although I didn't wait around outside and try to get a pic\sig it was still a cool vibe...security hanging about etc.

the really cool thing was that there were people from all around the world there to see them... met a lot of people from the U.K., Australia etc.

the line was so long to enter the arena we only caught 2 of the opening bands songs...so it was like old school metal...tons of like minded rabid fans.

they put on a great show...I will see them again this time around too. I really like Ghost as well and heard they are good live, so it's a no brainer.

this vid will give you an idea what you are in for. UP THE IRONS! \m/

The Dallas date is the same night as the Morbid Angel/Suffocation/Revocation show just down the street. I'm going to the latter, especially since Steve Tucker is back in M.A. :rawk:

Ouch. That's almost a tough decision. I'd pick seeing Iron Maiden over every other band in existence, but that's a pretty strong rival lineup.

I'm definitely going to the Xcel Energy Center show, which is actually in Saint Paul, rather than Minneapolis.

I probably got terrible seats, but I have a ticket to the 6/16/2017 show at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, MN.

I saw them last year at the Palace here in MI. Great show. Stage setup was excellent and Maiden was on point all night. They played a good amount of new stuff too. Would definitely recommend going and would go again.
