PSA: Killer cab sim plug in - free

Post by GuitarBilly »

I've been using the Mercuriall Cab 3.0 on all my recent recordings. It's a killer IR (Hiwatt 4x12) with it's own loader and a few settings to twaek. Sounds better and it's much easier than testing out different IRs all day.

Their TS808 emulator is also pretty good. I haven't tried the amp sims yet but I will eventually. Downloaded them all since they're free. Really good stuff.

there's an additional download you need, an "library" file that is right on top of the download link. It won't work without it. But once that's downloaded and installed it's super easy.

I grabbed the plugin and the library file but the library file is not showing up in the plugin area of my DAW. Is that how it's supposed to be or I am doing something wrong?

Which DAW are you using? Sometimes you have to have the DAW rescan the plug ins at program start. I.e. Hold option when opening Pro Tools on Macs.

I tried that a number of times and it still didn't show up. I'm using Ableton Live BTW. It doesn't really matter to me at this point as I've moved on to other things, but I appreciate your reply all the same.
