Direct recording - a request

Post by Zozobra »

I've always struggled with direct recording and getting good tones using IRs. I'd like to eliminate the first part of the signal chain, i.e., me, my guitar and preamp. Could one of you dudes who cops good heavy tones possibly drop me the following to dick with in reaper:

The raw DI from the guitar to reamp
Your reamped track without the IR/cab sim applied so I can try out the IRs I have with known good source material.
The finished track to reference to.

Just a 4 or 8 bars would be fine and it'd give me something to A/B against and it would be super helpful to get my ear in. I'm sure other folks who have had equally shitty luck would benefit too.

Ultimate Metal's Sneap forum had a bunch of these. People generally post their signal chain and results in the thread so you can use those as reference material. You can probably find more recent threads over there if the links are dead.

Awesome! I'll give these a tickle over the weekend.
