Last night, I found a website that provides a way to gig swap with other bands.

You list your band, then when you are looking for gigs/tours, you can map your route on their site and it lists bands in those towns. Basically a good way to gig swap and get out there more. It just launched in July so there's not a lot of bands yet.
I'm not affiliated at all with the site, except I listed my band on it. I think it's a good idea and the more bands, the better it will work. Check it out.
