Anyone use Miroslav Philharmoik?

Post by exafro »

Been messing around with writing some aggressive symphonic metal and I've been using Miroslav. I run into problems on fast runs where it sounds terribly fake. Now, it's probably a problem with my programming, but I'm wondering if anyone has used it in this application with good results?

I have it and know exactly what you mean. For the most part it's just the program. The strings in particular can sound very unconvincing for fast runs because they just don't use that many samples, and there aren't necessarily any great sounding articulations for certain kinds of playing. As limited as it is, you would be better off buying EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Silver (just under $100) if you need something really inexpensive. The samples are much clearer, of higher quality and there are more of them per velocity. Of course, you can mix the two programs to great effect if one has something the other doesn't.
