Simple acoustic absorbers

Post by 2tallmusic »

Last week we moved into a new practicing room. The room is big, dry, freshly refurbished but sonically suboptimal. To reduce a bit the echos and reflexions I ordered a pack EQ Acoustics absorber tiles and as I'd like to avoid gluing stuff to the freshly painted walls I wanted to build something non-invasive.

Therefore I got now some pieces of birch ply:

Ply wood cutted to order via the net is meanwhile the same price as getting it uncutted from the local DIY market. Doing it that way the construction needs only one single straight 8 mm route.

and some Adam Hall Spray adhesive:

Ready is a moveable acoustic absorber:

Got now three pieces to get started and I hope it will help to improve the room a bit. But anyhow it was fun to do another little basement project.

Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately I have no pics of the new room so far, but I will be there next Thursday again. The picture above is my music corner at home, overloaded with stuff, and therefore no echo issues in that room ;-)

I might try that out, good idea. There's an awful echo in my new apartment, I'll see how much is reduced when I have all the carpets and curtains in place.
