DOH, I was thinking of 2e, which was sometimes called AD&D but was different. Fail on me.

Awesome!
My players had a tendency to want to burn things down too. More than once I had to remind them that "neutral" doesn't make it ok to be homicidal maniacs.
Yea we are all true neutral but I have a feeling we should be just chaotic hahaha a lot of times we're like screw this we're leaving no survivors hahahhha

yeah, they've made a bunch of variants, some good, some bad. The latest Europe & Pacific editions are pretty good and combined, pretty epic.
They're releasing (released?) a WWI version as well.

I never really got into warhammer, though I did go through a period of enjoying Battlefleet: Gothic. Had a pretty awesome armada for a bit. But they discontinued it after a couple of years.

I know a lot of people that still play it. Cool game with great minis.

I think the best D&D groups are friends from work groups... that way if you guys end up getting pissed off (like what happened in my group) you aren't getting mad at really close friends just my .02 cents

My 11 year old son saved for weeks to get Skyrim. When I woke up Saturday morning, the first thing I heard (even before my coffee) was, "Dad! Come and watch me kill a dragon!!!"
Yarbicus wrote:What a great weekend! Played some new board games including Quarriors, Dominion, and Formula D (pictured):
Dominion is seriously one of my wife and I's favorite games. We have the base game and the Seaside expansion (which we've only brushed the surface of). Man, she and I have to find some time to play or play some M:TG soon.

That is awesome.
Wifey will sometimes watch me play Skyrim. Usually she's asking questions like "Why are you killing that poor bear?" Or "What did that wolf do to you?" Or "Why are you running from the dragon, what kind of hero are you?"

I just acquired an original 3M version of Win, Place & Show. Its in this sweet plastic covered box with a snap, pretty much mint condition except one of the horses is broken off its base (like ALWAYS happened) and just SCREAMS late 60s.
I played a TON of my dad's Avalon Hill version growing up and can't wait to break in my own copy.

So the Pathfinder campaign we are running is a lower level one but a very fun one. We come back into this town after the mayor asks us to check out the fort a few miles away because they haven't heard from them in weeks. They were all killed by giant's. So we killed the giants and make our way back to town. On our way back we hear a giant crashing noise and a sudden increase in the water noise. Back in town half the town is flooding due to a damn break. As we're trying to save people a Legendary Snake Octopus thing comes out of the water and begins attacking us. It knocked out everyone but me. I decided to use a scroll of gaseous form and go inside of it and shoot off all of my flame strikes for the day. I barely killed it with my last flame strike, it cause a massive fireball to blow it's head off, with me still in it's mouth. Anyways, our DM was super surprised i killed it as we were only suppose to encounter it for 5 rounds and then it leaves. So me being a level 9 dwarf druid killed a level 15 Legendary Creature I thought that was a pretty fun fight so i figured i'd share it with my fellow nerds

That went better than my last group's encouter with a kraken. Apparently heavy armor, bad luck on rolls, a boiling lake, and a kraken make for bad things.
The NPC thief I was running (who was pretty much integral to the success of the module) got et. It just got worse from there.

As a DM I mostly just cackled wildly though.
My DM was SO shocked when i killed it!!! he was like there was no way in hell you killed it hahaha and since we cut the heart out of it and ate it we all got a special reward, which he decided would be use going up to mythic (idk what it is yet) but it sounds awesome!
