Iphone garageband tempo change help?

got a problem bros, how do i change the tempo in different sections of a song using the Iphone garageband app for the 4s?

i've tried counting out a certain number of measures set at one tempo, and then creating another section to use another tempo, but it seems that the tempo/metronome control seems to be universal.

is there something i'm missing or am i just screwed?
