Need advice on ebay issue
So I bought an amp from a seller last week with a 100% rating with 185 transactions. On their auction they stated they usually ship within 2 business days. So originally I was stoked. Although it's the first time I've spent more than a few hundred on an auction from a private seller.
So after 5 days go by and I hadn't heard a word I sent the seller a polite message asking about when he plans on shipping the item. I tell him it's a lot of money to spend and not hear a word. He says "My mind has been scattered and elsewhere this week", he tells me - he'll ship it by this morning (2/20) at the latest - and as of yet no shipping info. Should I send another message? Maybe escalate to a claim? I've never had an issue like this before and I'm not sure if me bitching to him will make the problem worse.

Even if he shipped today - you probably won't be able to use the tracking number until this evening.
He should have been able to send you a tracking number by now though.
I wouldn't jump on it immediately - if I hadn't heard anything by 4 o'clock his time, I would probably send another prodding e-mail.
Good luck

I got to work today & saw my driver wasnt here.
Later found out that later this A.M. , his little daughter died on her way to the hospital last night.

Holy shit. Mojo man. I guess that puts it in perspective a bit. I guess the thing that kinda got me worked up was the zero communication part. For me it would be totally different if the day the auction ended he said something about it being a crazy week and as soon as he could get it out he would.

Yeah. Give him a bit & see what's up. Check back in with him later, Hopefully he'll have you hooked up.

Another thought is he may have needed your money to actually ship the amp. And that can take 4-5 business days to transfer from Pay-Pal. I would wait and see if you have a tracking number that works tomorrow morning then maybe shoot him another e-mail. eBay will then give him at least another week to respond or provide tracking info or proof of shipping so it wouldn't hurt to wait a day or 2 more honestly. Shoot I bought new rims for my Harley and they have a UPS tracking number for 3 days now and said the number was accepted on the 17th but no update on where the rims are. I have had USPS not update their tracking # accept on acceptance and on delivery. That ususally doesn't happen but it does.

Remember too, an amp isn't the easiest thing to ship properly. The 2-day average may be on smaller items.
I'd rather have the guy take his time and do it right, rather than rush it out the door in a less than protected state.

Yeah. Not to mention mail being slower right now. It may be the same with other forms of shipment.

Damn, that's terrible

I got home from work yesterday and heard that this woman my parents were friends with was driving to school to pick up her children and a fucking tree fell over onto her car and either crushed or impaled her

I went to school with her oldest kids; they were a couple years younger than me.
What a fucked up way to go.....
